People that know something about football understand that these coaches coach the schemes that come down from the OC. Our last OC knew little about successful run blocking schemes against DI defenses, instead opting for zone blocking which was little more than pillow fights. Benefited his passing game, which is all he cared about. With our new experienced DI OC, these coaches will now be able to coach schemes they are familiar with and know to be the way to attack DI defenses. Pulls, trap, double teams, actually knocking people down instead of just pushing. Along with a scary quick QB capable of breaking long gains. The run game will be far more than just setting up the pass. Click copy/save on your poor keyboard (bqm).argh! said:Spanky2 said:AZ, you may be correct. The difference is we now have first rate coaches who are qualified to teach our student-athletes.AZGrizFan said:I would opine that we are set better at O-line for depth than we are at CB.
you mean the same coaches they've had since they got here(bqm) germer, nicholson, schillinger... you bobby sycophants are funny.
I'm looking forward to getting to see what the new blocking below the waist rule does to formations and line play; e.g., only linemen within the tackles and less than five yards beyond the line of scrimmage can block below the waist.
I would assume we'll see an increase in down blocking and isolation by pulling TEs and FBs on the weakside on smaller LBs and I pity the safety on that side.
