I haven't posted in years, and only occasionally visit the board. I wanted to provide my two cents on the topic of the degrading of this site by a handful of posters. Mtgrizrule has been a great poster for years. He talks football, and refuses to engage in the B.S. which occurs here on a daily basis. He is right to bring up the dicks who have ruined any semblance of football discussion here. They know who they are, and they dominate the threads in shear number of posts, with almost none of them relevant to Griz football.

It is true that most of the good football posters have left the board. This site was a place where the legions of Griz fans who live across the nation could get info on Griz football. No longer. When 80% of the posts are made by a few posters, none of whom talk football, or even live in the state so that they could offer any real info on the team, you know what this site has become.

I believe the monitors have the ability to return the site to football talk, but it seems like the only monitor who participates now is Payton, and for some reason he allows these few posters to continue to ruin the site, while banning other posters who actually talked football.

The owner of this site can not be happy at the direction the site has taken, with fewer participants, and the loss of many former participants. This is my two cents. I do not expect things to change, because this site has experienced a slow but progressive slide for years.

this board has always been like this, despite what so many want to pretend. a lot of the people who left contributed to the non-football banter as much as the rest. let's face it, this is as much a social site as anything, and for large chunks of the year there isn't a lot to talk about regarding griz football. indeed, if that was the criteria for posting, there wouldn't be much of anything posted here for much of the year, so people make jokes, or post long whiney diatribes, like swilly2 just did (i doubt that is really swilly) alpo made a site that was supposedly just going to talk football, but that didn't really happen, it was mostly just an ego project that he self-imploded.

I prefer posting about how I’m a good poster who doesn’t post much anymore because posters don’t post about football. Makes me feel good and does a lot to really solve the perceived problem. Next, I like to post how I know something but cannot share it because people might be meanie jerk stores. Finally, the real Swilly was more about Notre Dame, Manny Ramirez, and UM hoops than he was about Griz FB, so this is not the real Swilly.

I hope we can have more good plays when season starts. If we have more good plays than bad plays we be better. We just need to block and run and pass and tackle good and then if we kick good we should be good.

REALLY!!! You honestly think that more good play, with less bad play will lead to more goodness overall!! Did you even play game? Because I didn't, and therefore I know it has more to do with "culture", "toughness", "grit", "can-doedness", and "nose strength" than ANY of these things... Hell, you didn't even mention "parental stenghness"... Sad really. Get back to me at my lake house when you get a clue.

Ahcourse you do. Your favorite team had dunce coach who was basically a clone of the Wizard of Oz. You all bought it. But back to real football talk. Overall, you get better results from more good plays than bad plays. Say we run a pass play. If the receiver of the ball gets to a spot where no defender is and the quarter back throws the football to the receiver, it has a better chance to be a good play than if the quarter back throws it to the other team or gets tackled by the other team. Griz need to focus on that and we will be good team.
