The difference between Hawaii going 12-1 and UM going 11-1 is the expectations.
Hawaii fans thought they could go 12-0 and get into a good bowl. They knew that it would be an uphill battle against a good team in a bowl, but still hoped to win.
Montana fans thought they would go 11-0 and get into the playoffs. The difference is that this was supposed to be the year. This is all Bobby's recruits and I think most fans welt that this team had the tallent to get to the National Championship.
Not saying it is right or wrong, but this is the way that I see it.

Not even close to our situation.
Hawaii is so far behind Georgia. Georgia has every advantage in money, facilities, tradition, support, and talent. The Hawaii fans could not have expected to win this game.
Now at UM, we should be more like Georgia to every other team in the FCS. We should have just as much of an advantage over most every team in FCS as Georgia has over Hawaii. But we don't beat anybody, outside of Fort lewie, like Georgia beat Hawaii. :twocents:

What are our supposed advantages, other than a great program/tradition and stadium/game atmosphere?

Meanwhile Georgia was bigger, faster and stronger.
Not a good mix, and it led to an ugly game. Which is probably just what the BCS wanted, now they can shrug off undefeated mid-majors saying they don't want a repeat of Georgia-Hawai'i
