Well I was a Diamondbacks fan for 20 years so I LOVED watching him there. Was a sad day when they let him go to the Cardinals.

Well, I spent seven summers ushering. In many ways, it was fun and I met people who are still my friends 20 years later. But there were AHs every night and the pay was crappy, but I did get to watch a lot of fun baseball.
Was a Mustang Booster for many years. Volunteer beer sales at the games. Many free ones.
I'm the most excited about this transfer. He's legit.
He is not really a transfer. He is comming from Prep School.... He will have 5 years to do 4, just like a high school kid.

And it all started here in little ol' Billings 30 + years ago when Paul started his pro career as a Billings Mustang, a rookie- league team in the Cincinnati Reds' farm system, playing at the old Cobb Field.

He is not in high school. He is not a 2025 recruit. The 2025 recruits are still in high school this Spring and they graduate from high school this summer.
Goodman is college. He was at the Air Force Academy, this past fall and he will be at UM this spring. He played for the “prep” team. The prep means preparation, not prep as in high school. They play a Juco schedule.
He went into the transfer portal. He is a Juco transfer. He’s a transfer just like the other 16 transfers who were on college football teams for the 2024 season.
And it isn’t 5 with 4 to play. It will be 4 with 4 to play because the 2024-25 college year he is in college.

* preparation for the Air Force Academy FBS football team and also a way to get players into the Air Force Academy who may not qualify academically. I doubt that part was the case for Goodman though. He had really good grades and SAT score when he was in high school.
I don't believe this is true. I don't think the prep school year counts against eligibility.

Attending a prep school does not count against eligibility and you get 5 years to play 4.

The young Mr. Goodman's parents, Jeffery Goodman and Irene Goodman, have been posting a lot of great stuff about the Griz on X. It's been fun to see a recruit's family buy-in so wholeheartedly to the program, even to the point of understanding the rivalry very quickly. Case in point below.
