what other players were present???!!

Take a quick look at the roster and make a couple educated guesses. Doing so, and you should be able to figure it out.
Or you could just tells us yourself since you seem so certain about it

Yeah, I guess that I could.
Then do it. Spill the beans

What I am telling you, is by taking a look, you will have a pretty good idea who was with Strong.

There you go again throwing stones at me. Where did I ever say I wasn't impressed with strong? All I asked is what is it that makes people so impressed with him ? I will tell all who read this, I am not impressed with any negative behavior that is detrimental to a team!

Latest from Pullman. Not looking good. I bet this kid is done for the season. Some others may be done as well. The thinking that this will blow over may be premature.

I'm still confused as this article is from 10 hours ago. It states Strong has been charged but 10 hours ago, many of the news outlets breaking this story couldn't corroborate that one way or another. I didn't read the entire body of this as it requires a subscription

From the Moscow-Pullman Daily News:

According to court documents, the incident began around 2 a.m. at a house party on the 1200 block of Stadium Way in Pullman. Witnesses told police Bradley "Wyatt" Meyring, 23, of Pullman, placed Justin Strong, 22, of Missoula, in a headlock after a dispute at the party. Witnesses told police that once Strong got free of the hold, he and two friends allegedly chased after Meyring as he fled the residence. The party's host said she attempted to stop the three men from chasing Meyring, to no avail.

When the three men caught up to Meyring, he turned around and put his hands in the air, one witness told police. Strong then allegedly punched Meyring, who fell to the ground. The witness said Strong punched Meyring again while he was on the ground. Strong has a different account of events. According to court documents, Strong told police he was trying to break up a fight at the party that involved Meyring when Meyring punched him from behind. He said he chased Meyring out of the house, but couldn't find him and had "calmed down" and was going to return to the party when he ran into Meyring, "who balled his fists" outside the residence. Strong said he hit Meyring in self-defense and then stuck him again when he tried to get up, as stated in court documents.

Witnesses told police the other two involved in the assault are also football players from the state of Montana. Strong told police he didn't know the other men around at the time of the assault, as he was focused on breaking up the fight and protecting himself. Meyring, known in the WSU track program as Wyatt Meyring, is a senior weight-thrower from Edmonds, Wash., who transferred from a junior college two years ago and has seen only limited competition for the Cougars. In outdoor track, he has specialized in the hammer throw.

Pullman Police Chief Gary Jenkins said officers and emergency responders arrived on scene and found Meyring unconscious, with his eyes open, bleeding from his head. He suffered a fractured skull and a hematoma. He was taken to Pullman Regional Hospital and later transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. A hospital spokeswoman was unable to release information regarding Meyring's status Monday evening. The University of Montana football team had a bye week last weekend.Jenkins said police are investigating and looking for additional suspects. Eric Taber, assistant communications director of the UM football program, confirmed Strong was involved in an incident in Pullman over the weekend

My guess is that if the guy put his hands up, he was putting them up to fight. I have never seen or heard of any kid who, in situation like this, puts his hands up to surrender. That's only in movies when someone has a gun.

See the kid's Facebook photo. He looks huge and muscular. Don't know if this link will get to the photo. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10210044797732037&set=a.1434966309705.2061085.1099376767&type=3&theater

That dude is huge. This got more interesting IMO. If this guy started it Strong definitely had to feel threatened.

Confusing reporting for sure. Article headings said he's been charged and body says nothing of the sort. All other outlets have not said he's been charged, yet so now I'm wondering.

It’s the chasing, finding, and second punch that worry me. If this is true, especially with witnesses saying he hit the guy again while down, then this will not end well for Strong. This will cost him his spot on the team. And might have a cost for the other two players present. Not to mention the WAZZU athlete in the hospital. I pray that he ends up being ok, otherwise this gets real ugly real fast.

It’s just stupid and wasteful of God given talent a potential. Unless the Pullman PD is really quick at investigating, then Strong’s playing career is over.

This...I could be wrong, but I would think the first punch was self defense, but the second one wouldn't be...and the article says that Strong admits to hitting him a second time when he tried to get up. This second punch also seams to be what caused the head injury.

Where did you get that last piece about the second hit being the cause? I’m curious

I was just going off of the story. If the kid was getting up and got hit in the head again, and then the police showed up and he was unconscious and bleading from his head, I assume it was from that. You are right though, I don't know for sure and shouldn't have said it....My bad

Based off of the English skills presented in that newspaper story...im going to assume that they're also not good at getting the entirety of a story.

And this is the right road. Speaking of goading. Unfortunately, this is also how rumors start. I could just "guess" it was Jensen and Calhoun. Rumor started. an EDUCATED guess would be looking at the roster, and still could just be a rumor, and until it's officially in print, everything is just speculation. Only those that really know...well, know. Put it to bed, leave the basket alone, and look at other threads to see whom people think it may be.

Right. You are "not impressed with his behavior" which means you are assuming guilt before knowing all, many, or even a FEW of the facts related to this particular incident. THAT makes you part of the pitchfork crowd. It's really not that complicated.

Pitchfork crowd or whatever. He screwed up and he will be the first to tell you! What ever the outcome, he did wrong to himself and his team! If you don't like that, oh well!
