Strategy?

Will it just be two old coaches doing what they do?
Over and over and over again, or will one of them try something new?

The one "new" think I am hoping for is the Griz finding ways to beat pressure. Teams have pressured them relentlessly and it should be costly but they haven't found many ways other than JJ buying time with his feet. There ARE other ways... I hope so see them this weekend.

this could be the strategy they may bring.....pressure can work against us as we have seen JJ pay for that....i hope we do have some answers for this as well...lets hope for at least some quick releases like we saw v adams do against us...it worked very effectively on first down plays to bring up second and short.

The funny thing is it seems that JJ is better under pressure and better throwing on the run than not. It also seems that, this year anyway, the Griz play better with their back against the wall. No stats to back this up, but it seems that more often than not, if we start a series with great field position, we squander it, but when JJ has to throw his way out of the red zone, it works. Not advocating that as a strategy, but I do like to see JJ throwing on the run. I hope to see us mix it up with a more balanced attack and a vicious blitz on D.

I agree. It seems like in the App State game we threw nothing but short, quick passes and it worked incredibly well. Not sure why the coaches have refused to use that strategy since.

Put in S-H as a running back and then throw a flea flicker. That should confuse them.

This. It'd be interesting to see how many times we could run the FF consecutively before those morons "sniffed it out.". :ugeek:

Ah, but we could "reboot" - replace S-H with Gustafson!

Go with our infamous four QB set; JJ, S-H, McK, & Gustafson all on the field at once.
We've discussed something similar in the past, this weekend is the time to break it out.
