You are right maroonandsilver--I am sure there is a lot going on behind the scenes, there almost has to be for our coaching search to end soon in a timely manner.

I am hoping by the end of next week, we have a new head coach, and we could very well have one towards the beginning of the week, with the possibility of an announcement even coming this week if Scott or Ty has been promoted.

This is Week 3 of the search, as grizindabox has noted.

All of this is speculation on my part--I do know one of Bobby's cousins here in Billings--helluva nice guy !!! Hopefully, I will run into him downtown soon so I can ask him if he has heard anything about Bobby and/or Tim.

I think you can take Scott off the board.

I am amazed at how you can overlook all the coaching deficiencies and gaffs over the last 3 years. Fortunately Haslam hasn't.

I think people here should go back and review the first half of the Southern Utah game...and ask themselves if that is the future of Griz football they honestly want. It was seriously bad...

Amen, PlayerRep, and to me--wild speculation on my part--but if it is Scott or Ty, why not announce it this week before heading to Cheney !!! Maybe I am on the wrong frequency, but I think that would send a message to the kids and returning players of the confidence AD Haslam has in Mick and his lieutenants, Scott and Ty. I guess on the downside, it could be a bit distracting as well, but I think the good of such an announcement would outweigh the bad !!!

Again, I have absolutely zero inside information--just speculation on my part.

According to a Fritz Neighbor article that appeared in The Billings Gazette today, Brent Pease, Beau Baldwin, Bobby, and Ty are the finalists--Scott and the guy from Wisconsin-Whitewater are also mentioned.

So hopefully, by the end of next week or sooner, we have a new HC.

And Lance Leipold, the HC from UW-Whitewater, is now the head coach at The University of Buffalo.

If anyone wants to read the article, please go to billingsgazette.com, sports--normally the Missoulian articles appear in the Gazette a day later so that the folks in Missoula paying Fritz's salary get to read the article first. (The Missoulian and Gazette are sister Lee Enterprise papers, thus the article sharing between them.)
