"Appeal to authority" is always a logical fallacy, but what can your comment possibly have to do with observations about Stitt's actual performance and his relationship with the players this year? Is "remember what Joe Glenn said," an excuse or a rationalization?havgrizfan said:Joe Glenn was/is also one of the single BIGGEST Bob Stitt advocates on the face of the earth. They are extremely good friends. Stitt absolutely admires everything about Joe, and Joe campaigned hard for him to get the Montana job. So, you might want to pick a different guy as an example to portray Stitt in a negative light. I'm not saying there aren't examples out there for you, but Glenn isn't one of them. Don't take my word for it though. Ask him yourself, or, if you can't get ahold of him, go back and look at the interviews he did with the Missoulian in the weeks leading up to, and in the days following Stitt's hire.

I work with a guy who worked at a liquor store in Greeley when Joe Glen won UNC's last national championship. He told me Joe showed up after the game and bought 30 cases of beer for the team. My point is that the players need to believe in the coach. The COACH needs to believe in his players. Nothing short of contributing to the delinquency of a minor is what Stitt needs right now. Let's beat the Cats. Let's drink 30 cases of beer. Let's get back to winning!!!!
Go GRIZ!
I highly doubt our coach bought 30 cases of beer for his team that half consists of underage kids. If he did that is not something I would boast or be proud about.
I didn't say I bought 30 cases...nor did I say that Joe Glen boasted that HE bought the beer. The bottom line is believe what you want, but Joe Glen loved his players, and his players loved him.

Strange, Joe Glenn had plenty of opportunities to offer coach Stitt, a position, how come that great advocate never got around to that.
Stitt said so. But it is interesting that an alleged "reporter" never put two-and-two together.Triwest said:spsyk said:havgrizfan said:emilsson_2000 said:I didn't say I bought 30 cases...nor did I say that Joe Glen boasted that HE bought the beer. Are you sure Glenn never offered Stitt a position? All I am saying.

I have seen quite a few of THESE posts...it's HIS team
Good Thing for a home Cat-Griz game. A decisive win today wouldnt hurt

I didn't say it wasn't his team, but he is not playing with all his guys.

Maybe that the problem...the players dont feel like HIS guys! Bohl doesnt have that issue at Wyoming with the guys he has inherited & brought in. First it was getting his "system" installed, then it was wait until I get MY guys in MY system. Stitt has a tendency to deflect accountability.
I heard Mike Leach say today "if a system was all you needed...then you wouldn't need a coach!" That kind of sums up my feelings on the first two Stitt years. Unfortunately, I had high hopes for him but he appears so out of his league. Ty out coached his former Boss today & proved that he's NOT the leader or coach that we thought he was!

Glenn had a great run at Montana with someone else's recruits, and then we he was able to have his own recruits at Wyoming and SD: pure crap. Some much for the "he needs his own recruits" theory.hiline1961 said:Didn't the Griz phenomenal winning streak against the cats end under Glenn -who then said "it was time for the streak to end". Glenn isn't that special either = he won with another coaches recruits
