I'd like to announce my candidacy for the Texas A&M OC position.

On a serious note I doubt Stitt would consider it - he wants to be the guy in charge. Rumors were he's turned down other FBS OC jobs when at CSM - he'd presumably do the same at the UM.

Geez BW. Aren't you already promised to the defense? I know they'll wave the big dollars @ you, but you've got a commitment to honor.
Ron is the commitment guy.

Crap this means some bobcat coaches are going to tweet the definition of commitment again doesn't it?

We're about thirty days out...

You know what? There might be some truth to this. I mean, he might be going to the AFCA to shop himself out and that's why he's waiting to make the hires for this staff until after the AFCA. He wouldn't want to hire someone if he gets hired away.

Then why settle on A&M? Why not put the word out that you're available and get the phone ringing for interviews. Stitt may be a climber, but as has already been mentiomed, I think he wants a head ball coaching spot of his choosing @ the next level. Not a tire fire layover in the Sun Belt or MW Conferences. To do that, he's going to have to prove out here first.

Nice job not derailing the thread by the way

TAMU is a P5 school in the SEC. If he wants a big time HC job, he's going to have to try out the OC position and get some FBS experience first. Making the leap from D2 to FCS was pretty big and eye opening for him from what I understand. The jump from FCS to P5 FBS is astounding and no one would believe he would be prepared for that jump.

I don't think he goes anywhere, but you're crazy if you think he has a better shot at the FBS level by staying at Montana rather than becoming the OC of a pretty good SEC team.

I agree. Gonna have to prove himself like Mcelwain did as an OC first at that level.

I would say that he has a greater chance of being successful going that route but Tressel made the jump straightaway so it is possible.

Gawd LTCF, you are again a DERP. Coach Stitt isn't going any where............for a year or two.

Regarding your signature reference to Putin - The late general Norman Schwarzkopf once said back during the first gulf war, "that is between them and Allah - it is just our job to arrange the meeting."

I always liked Norman.
His quote is a sentiment I can get behind.

What about W's "Mission Accomplished"? One of the better lines in history.....
That particular mission WAS accomplished. It was when the mission changed that things got muddled up.

With regard to Stitt to A & M, I don't think so.
