Interesting that Coastal Carolina (not so great SOS) and UNI (poor record) are ranked so high on this new rating system. It's my understanding that it is basically a SOS-like rating (is this correct?) and what will be used this year in helping determine at-large playoff teams.

Old Dominion must be an oversight, since they're in Conference USA.

ODU is still counted as a FCS independent team this year for some reason. I was thrown by it at first, too.

Football moves to FBS on July 1, 2014. All other sports are already in C-USA.

Well, first - I don't know how much the committee will embrace SRS. There are some outliers where the conventional methods would be in disagreement. Cats are being saved by their position in the Polls at this point, from a GPI perspective. I think they need to win 2 of 3 to get in. I don't see the Cats in at 8-4, unless their remaining win comes against EWU.
