Spuds 2.0

Here’s what I hate about college basketball. The 15’ midrange jumper is literally GONE from the game. In tonight’s game, the Griz have exactly THREE shots made (and only 8 attempts) that weren’t either a layup or a 3-pointer. Idaho has 2 (with 8 attempts). And two of the 3 Griz attempts are by DCH.

When I watch Chris Paul for the Suns make elbow jumper after elbow jumper, it seems much more high percentage than the crazy, wild, out of control drives through the key and throwing up a prayer hoping for a foul to be called.

A few weeks ago, we were somewhat looking for mid range shots. I posted before, we need to hit some.

We'll see how they play with desperation now.
Griz down 64-66 with about 4:14 left.
Letting a 3-11 team back into a game after being up by 11….maddening.

This team may be one and done in the tourney. Just can never count on them beating who they should beat with ease.
Strange how these games play out. Seems like the Griz have some players ... just not enough. And by now, everyone has figured out what DeCuire has done to mask their weaknesses. Result: The Griz can't pull it out when it gets to crunch time.

Sad. :(

This game (along with the NAU and ISU games, are eerily similar to last year’s team performance…..not a good trend line.

Wtf, losses to ISU, Idaho, and NAU???? I'm disappointed, upset, and really questioning this team. I'll leave it at that.

Well, sad to say, had Bannon made his free throws the Griz might have won this fairly easily. But, now, there is a good chance UM will not win another regular season game. No bye for the tourney...

Who the Hell knows? The Griz have won games we thought would be tough, then lost crap games like this one. About the only good news ... ISU beat Northern Colorado, so MT stays even there. (FWIW: Hurrah for the state of Idaho [sarcasm]! Both in-state teams won tonight. And BSU won last night.)

What are the odds of Krysko pulling a Bobby? Any hope at all? He’s looking like he might need a fresh start back home.

HUH? Why would he do that except in an advisory role, which, if DeCuire needed advice, he most certainly would ask. Sometimes, the coach is not the problem and this year's Griz are proof of that. My concern is that with a stronger bench than last year, the rotation is not consistent and the talent on the bench is discounted. Why have them on scholarship if they don't play, except as a practice squad?

Hey Vandal.... Big win for your alma mater.. things are looking up for the big sky conference tourney...#vandalup# 👍👍

…a word of advise to any coach…
…take time outs at the end to end results…
…take time outs early to get starting results…
…they clearly weren’t ready..take time out…

…time out..reset..take all three in two minutes…
…just like at the end..so frustrating T O…

Definitely another disappointing loss.

And a strange one at that. It felt like a Mike Montgomery GRIZ game: superior talent; feeling as though you’re in control most of the game; loss.

 You dug up about 8 seasons of bad memories, friend. As I recall, the capstone of those years came when the entire Griz team decided to shave their heads in a vain attempt to win a tourney game.

We drove down to Boise that year for the tourney so I remember it well. Was thinking about going and bringing the golf clubs if the weather looked decent this year (40 year anniversary give or take a year), but after the last couple weeks not a chance. Whatever IT is, they don't have it this year. I'm in the "Travis bandwagon club" but this is tough to digest.

Tough to watch us falter down the stretch, again. Led by 10 late in 2nd half only to watch it disappear. I keep wanting to find bright spots in this season but there few and far between with the exception of Brannon. Josh will be a player to be reckoned with the next two years but if we don’t find him some help he may decide to move on.

Watched the end of the cat eagles game. Very exciting finish going into overtime with the eagles coming out on top.

It seems like the previous bottom dwellers, ISU, EW, NAU are creating pariety in the league. I think the BSC is headed for another 16 seed.
