Spring schedule

...As far as the spring season goes, Choate has indicated he will be developing depth with the freshmen and redshirts and save the wear and tear on the key contributors. He mentioned Mellott by name several times in press conferences, so look for that kid to play a bunch. Although I expect both Rovig and McKay to get some time too.

It seems the real battle for the starting spots will begin in earnest in the fall.... I suspect Mellott finds the field in the fall one way or another, and if so, likely as a package guy similar to Andersen and Travis Jonsen.
I have so many questions here; but I will try to limit it to just two topics.

First, if you M.F’ers screw up Mellot and he gets “Troy’d” there should be a lawsuit of some kind or something. I would not take that lying down. After a year or so of what you’re describing, the kid will likely be begging to move to defense, just like #15. Could this approach be a factor in the low retention at the position?

FWIW, if I had an unprofessional goatee, man boobs, and chicken-parm breath, I would name #15 QB1 and Mellot QB2, and move all others to a different position.

Second, are you saying Choach is not taking the spring season serious? And is not going to try and win it? Or are you planting the seeds so you can later use this excuse? Or is it just the typical run of the mill our backups are better than our starters?
Turns out I do have an unprofessional goatee and man boobs (breath is ok), and your idea is ready stupid.

Anyway, Colter reported an informal conversation with a scout saying the #15 will probably play offense in the NFL. They are always looking for people that can score from anywhere and anytime. Choate has indicated he'll more than likely end up being a day 2 draft pick. So, are you saying Mellott would be disappointed in these same results? Perhaps he went to MSU for the simple reason he wants Choate to "Troy him" (i.e. put him into the NFL).

Choate has been very public about his lack of enthusiasm about the spring season, and yes, he'll protect veteran players and/or players that have nagging problems that need more time. I suspect most teams will do the same thing, but make no mistake about it dear egrizzer, the Cat team that arrives in Missoula will be plenty capable of another piss-poundng bludgeoning just like the last one. Choate will absolutely move to 5-0.

This spring season is a fucking joke.

Agreed. Not to get political, but the thing I hate the most about the spring season is that I drove a fucking hour to play some dog track in Chino Hills as a solid for a buddy, only to tee off at 9:00am and get all of 16 holes in before everyone had to bail for kid duty at 2:30pm. Yep, 5.5 hours for 16 holes. Plus an hour drive each way. Thx, BSC.

Wow. Sounds awesome. He should probably shut it down for the draft. Wonder how many FCS players go in rounds 2-3 to a position they don’t even play?

He’s good enough to play offense in the NFL, but not good enough to play offense for MSU. Duh.

Bryce Sterk, aka 'The Real #37', signed a free agent contract with the Miami Dolphins as a TE having only played defense his entire career.

It makes one wonder why Sterk didn't play TE in Bozeman. Choach doesn't want to start NFL-level talent? How many Bobcats need to play other positions in the NFL before it raises a bit of an eyebrow on Choach's personnel decisions? If Choach landed a Randy Moss-type WR, how confident are you that he wouldn't start him at Left Tackle?

lol. You're starting to understand what it takes to go undefeated against your in-state rivals. Another good tactic is making your rival prepare all week for an NFL bound player, and then keep him on the bench during the game. Great stuff from Choate. Has your number.

So not a second or third rounder?

I must have missed something, what NFL team is Troy plying on?

I think it’s become rather obvious that MSU has won four straight in spite of the unkempt MILF wrangler. “That NFL caliber OT looks like a great safety.” Haha!

Has my number? I’ve been wondering who keeps calling and breathing hard into the phone. I thought I could sense a tusked mammal on the other end.

I’ll have to be reminded, but I honestly recall Hot Dish and Butters trying the “Guy will be an NFL [position], but he’s a better fit at [position] for us” routine within the last six months. That happened, right?

Now you're on repeat. I already explained Choate is pretty crafty on how to go undefeated against an in-state rival.

Do you just make shit up? Is that like chapter 1 of the troll handbook or something? Doesn’t it just make you look like a dummy? (I know, going out on a limb here)
You’ve stated several times that Mr Chode is undefeated vs the Griz. Was my crapulous nap against the dryer really a dream?

Any help here, gents? I know they did either this or the “backups are better than the starters” thing. It was that Zeb Noland thing, right? Elite NFL talent, ridin’ the pine in the FCS, haha!

Yes Zeb Nolander. Top 20 best FB name ever.
These trolls’ absurdity and stupidity is matched only by their bluster and haughtiness.
QueefyCat is right up there. It’s one thing to be a troll on a rival’s board and say goofy shit just to stir the pot—I can forgive those kinds. But these bums really believe the shit they post.
Only about 2-3 FCS guys get drafted on day2 (in a good year), and as far back as I looked, none at RB.
And I have yet to see an example of an FCS guy drafted for a position that was not his primary one in college. But the Bubcats are the exception, and their star—just like these trolls—is saving himself for the next level.
