Spring Game?

Oh, I understand now. The decision is based on the convenience of the players and staff.

OK. Say your mom gives you $20 to run a lemonade stand. You know the people in the neighborhood will buy whatever you’re selling for 50 cents per cup because you’re a cute kid trying to turn a buck. Your end goal is to make enough coin to be able to take Cindy O’Connel to the soda shop. Do you get all the ingredients and make it yourself, or just get the frozen store brand lemonade from concentrate in the can for $1.50? Of course, the good stuff might sell more, but you’re into it for even more in labor and expenses. I hope this makes sense.

But if I sell it for 70 cents per cup and pass out flyers in the neighborhood, I’ll also be able to take Gertrude Smith to the movie.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT google a photo of Gertrude Stein. To each his own, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, blah, blah, blah. Believe me I'm trying to protect you here.

Don't ever, for any reason, do this to anyone for any reason ever, no matter what, no matter where, or who, or who you are with, or where you are going, or where you've been...ever, for any reason whatsoever...not even if there’s a fire, or a flood, or anything else, ever, in your entire life, make mention of, make a reference to, for any reason at all, on any day, in any month, googling Gertrude Stein.

If you’re charging $10.00 a ticket, I think you can raise the price. I thought you indicated the budget doesn’t allow you to have the game in Billings. So you have it in Hamilton and draw 60% less fans. Makes sense.
No one said anything about a budget; I doubt there is one. In addition to the final practice of the spring ball, the game and its setting is a fund raiser for the GSA. Revenue from ticket sales and concessions minus expenses equal funds donated to the GSA. Expenses for the Hamilton event are likely less than 10% of expenses for a Billings event. Pretty simple. The Billings Chapter will do its share for the GSA this spring with its annual BBQ and Laurel golf event on the spring tour.

is there any hard data to do an actual comparison or is this just speculation?

We have a very good handle on the travel, lodging and meal expenses for the team for the 2011 game in Billings. Since the Hamilton game is a day trip the comparison is pretty easy for most of us. If you require quantification to satisfy your argument, Bdizzle is your man.

So the Spring game is a charity event supporting the GSA, and the athletic Department receives Zero on this event???, So no funds Budgeted, for expenses and any costs incurred by the Athletic Department??, Many years ago. i played in what was an Alumni game held on Dornblazer field., Didn.t have many paying fans in the stands.

The GSA is fund-raising part of the AD. The GSA head is Greg Sundberg, #2 in the AD. The budget is pretty simple; keep expenses to a minimum so the revenues go right to the GSA. Kindle the fan base at the game site.
