Spring Camp discussion: Offense

I got nothing to base this on but my gut.But it is telling me that Sneed QB and Eastwood RB will be starting in our backfield very soon both being D-l drop down's. Colin Bingham and Caleb Hill will be at the ends Gresch and Calhoun will be right in there as well... Everything is up for grads starting day one. And I mean everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It may not even be until fall that a true favorite emerges from several of the key positions!!! Bobby did say "We don't recruit transfers to sit!"Eastwood is a Lex Hilliard Justin Green kinda back and Sneed is a true, duel, threat, option, at QB. I think we are going to see a 50-50 mix of pass and run from the onset... The offense will use everyone in a more pro set style it won't be pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, pass the QB will be a threat to run not just pass! There is a lot of excitement in the air to say the least! Our first game Sept.1st will have a playoff type environment! This is a big, big, big moment in Montana football history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Griz!

Sky, did you watch Gresch play last year? He is as dual threat as an offense needs a QB to be.

We'll see, but many on here are giving Sneed massive credit simply because he played at a (bad) low level FBS program. He may win the job, but nothing he has done in the past cements that as a certainty.

I have to disagree with you on Sneed. While yes, he is a D-1 transfer, it was from UNLV, not Alabama. Also, looking at his stats from FSJC where he is coming from they were not out of this world. Threw for around 1300 yds and rushed for around 300 in 9 games. I have no doubt that Hauck is bringing him here for an open competition, but Gresch has the skills to excel in Rosy’s offense. Plus, Gresch has earned the respect of the locker room, while it seems Sneed is demanding it. That usually doesn’t go over well, as we saw with Buss calling him out and putting him in his place.

I think Bobby will bring in a transfer for CB? Probably from the Junior college in San Diego.
Which JC are you talking about? There are numerous JC programs in San Diego, I'm curious which one Bobby is tight with.

Something like Palmona is the name. It is a Cal poly affiliate.
Must be Palomar, thanks!

Exactly! I get told almost every other day and I can't remember that name.

I thought I saw where Caleb Hill moved to tight end? Dalton Sneed and Gresch Jensen should battle for the starting spot and number two?? They should start from square one and let the best man win! There should be no guarantee's you start this year for Bobby's offense just because you started last year in Stitt's offense. They both bring strong suits that are different... Gresch is more familiar with the holdover players from Stitt's offense. Sneed is more familiar with Rosy and Bobby's offense Sneed played for both at UNLV in the past. I see a very healthy competition that will bring big dividends at the QB position. They are teammates and should support each other first and foremost! The team always comes first! The coaches will do whatever gives them the best chance to win on Sept. 1/2018 vs. NIU. I'm excited to see the two working together improving each others game and winning Griz football games, together... Come playoff time they will be each others biggest fan! That's just how it works.. Go Griz!

The coaches are wiping the slate clean, and are calling spring ball "Open tryouts". So there is no starting positions carried over, they must be earned.

And I put the over/under of returning starters who lose their starting jobs at 1.

Gresch will not lose his spot. The kid spins it very well and is one smart hombre. Competition is always good though. We need two outstanding QB'S anyway.

Mine is at 2 ...clean slates sound good, but there was a reason those starters were there regardless of coach but I see a couple spots are up in air due to transfers who weren't here to compete for spots that were not really solid (both on defense)

S/DL?

JC quarterback was brought in last year. Gresch beat him for the #2 spot as an inexperienced freshman. I’ve no worries he’ll do that again.

Griz will use spring ball to shape fresh offensive line

UNLV Center says "Dalton is one of those guys that I think can just come in and just light up the show."

Is there a reason why Jensen hasn’t been in the 11 on 11 drills?

If someone can beat out gresch, he will be one of the best in the FCS. Gresch dominated as a freshman and has tremendous upside. He has all the tools to be among top griz qb's of all time...

Agreed. Sneed is going to do more than be a "d-1" drop down to steal this job away from Gresch.

This board is full of morons...
