There's a lot of guys that are almost totally inexperienced or have pulled just limited duty who were very hyped recruits in every position. We're not relying on a bunch of true freshman either to hopefully rise up and start either. We'll just have to see, really. Could be good... could be bad...
They were very hyped by people on this board, any idea what the actual recruiting rankings were for these future all stars?
OK - through a few meetings, feel free to call this a cherry picked list but here's who I would see of the younger classes as being guys that either will be on the 2-deep or could be there depending how camps go who are/were Stitt recruits defensively, putting in parenthesis their star ranking as per reported by Payton in his original recruiting threads:
DE: Rodriguez (0), Maua (0), Nelson (2), Sirmon (3), Oslon (0)
DT: Longoria (0)
LB: Lewis (0), Matthews (2), Key (2), Welnel (2)
CB: Egbo (2), Cowans (0), Nash (2)
S: Crow (2)
I'm listing guys that would be newer faces to the 2-deep, not holdover starters
I personally see the pre-spring 2-deep (assuming all are healthy) to be as follows:
DE: Favoroso / Sirmon
DT: Sims / Tilleman
DT: Shaw / Davis OR Longoria
DE: Rodriguez / Nelson OR Maua
OLB: Buss / Welnel OR Key
MLB: Fa'atuiese / Matthews
OLB: Lewis / Cochran
CB: Nash / Holmes
CB: Cowans / Egbo OR Eaton if Egbo is out
S: Sandry / Crow OR Hauck
S: Epperly / Robertson
Do I expect it to totally stay that way? Nope. That's what camp is all about!
