Choate calling time out when the play was fully implemented is suspect WHY because it tip the hand
of Griz play..he knew that..sure the Griz should have changed the play but the clock was running...
coach ethics?
I’m amazed this is even a topic and that there is more than one person complaining about it.
The timeout was 100% legit.
Choate had already talked to the ref letting him know he’d be calling a timeout. He waited until the griz lined up to see the formation and he called a timeout, the ref was blowing the whistle, waving his arms, and a few steps out into the field by the time the ball was snapped.
With the game on the line and timeouts in his pocket, why would he not call a timeout there?
Blame your coach for going back to the same play twice in a row. Should have been fairly obvious that the Cats would come out with a different look out of the timeout.
Blame your o-line for getting tossed around with the game on the line.
Blame your running back for fumbling.
But to suggest it was unethical for Choate to call a timeout there?! That might be the dumbest thing I’ve read on this forum, and that’s saying a lot.
