Oh, well surely they should move right back into the top 25 then, right? They beat Hawaii and just recently had to come from behind for a 4 pt win against SDSU...I'm sure we'll see them back in the top 25 soon!....you were saying.......

No they will not return to the top 25 because THEY WERE BEAT BY AN FCS TEAM WHO HAD THE INTESTINAL FORTITUDE to play them. I mentioned their undefeated record against all other FBS teams to stress a point....

Good lord - are all Griz fans as dense as you?

Btw, since you like to point out that OSU was ranked "when you played them", well, ASU was ranked when the Griz beat them, sooooooo...weren't you pointing out that the Griz haven't played anybody? Are all EWho fans as dense as you?

App State was ranked in the AP top 25? News to me. Congrats!

There are two inferences one can draw from Eastern Washington University in Cheney Washington beating Oregon State. One is that Eastern Washington University in Cheney Washington is good. What is the other?

Never said they were ranked in the AP top 25 but they were ranked in the FCS national polls at the time the Griz played them. My point is if he can point out that OSU was a ranked team (don't care which poll) why can't Montana fans claim that they played a ranked team in ASU?

Enough already! Oregon State is a top 25 FBS program. Appy State is a storied FCS team that is nothing extraordinary this year. EWU deserves much credit for stepping up and beating OS. Appy a good win but no comparison IMHO.

They beat a *preseason top 25 FBS program which is indisputable proof that preseason polls don't mean anything.

Using that logic, I would guess the same could said about App State.

Thanks, but I think I'm gonna hang on to my own opinion. Btw, Oregon St is NOT a top 25 FBS program. They're not even in "others receiving votes".

Uh...yeah. Nobody's arguing that App St is good. Jeezus...I was just trying to point out the hypocrasy in observer's idiotic statements.

NAU and Cal Poly are just as dangerous.

If you really believe that, then I doubt there's much that can be said because you obviously haven't been paying attention to anything outside of the Griz.

On the Montana game, obviously it will be a big game. It's always a big game for us, but mostly because UM is usually who you need to get through to win the Big Sky. As a program, we are less concerned with just beating Montana as we are winning the conference and competing for a NC. It's just that you usually don't get one without the other. Other than that, it is just like any other game. We have two early season games that have the potential to be much bigger if we win both of them (Oregon State and SHSU).

Lastly, there are no EWU fans on these boards that think this team in invincible. Not even close. Do we think we have a great team? Yes, absolutely. And EWU would clearly be a different team without VA so no argument there...but couldn't you say the same about UM with no JJ, MSU without DM (the latter is pretty obvious). So not sure what the point of this "without Adams" stuff is. We are nit without him. And anyway, we hear that EVERY season, whether it be Kaufman, Jones, Meyer, Kimble...whomever.

What planet are you from? I said EWU has a good team. But NAU and Cal Poly are both ranked, and usually play tough. You obviously missed my point: EWU is not a rivalry game for the Griz (we only have one rival, and they know who they are), and Idaho should rejoin the conference so EWU can have a rival. The Griz need to focus on NAU. We can think about the Beagles next month.

With all due respect, EWU is more dangerous than NAU and Cal Poly. NAU and Cal Poly are definitely going to be tough teams, but EWU will most likely be our toughest opponent this season. I do agree though... let's first take care of NAU. :thumb:

If we played EWU this weekend, they would be more dangerous. We are not playing EWU this weekend, and a lot can happen in a month. The most dangerous opponent is a quality team that you look past.

You do understand that if Idaho rejoined the Big Sky (in football), that we would be there biggest rival not EWU. Some would even argue that the Vandals are our true rival, not the other guys that "know who they are".

I thought every team in the Big Sky Conference was a rival to the Griz. And in turn the Griz rival all others for the National Championship. Certainly not in the same vein as an in-state rival but a rival nonetheless; rivals in winning the BSC Championship, rivals in recruits, not only in football but in all other sports as well. We all rival each other for victory on the field as well as on the court, etc., etc., etc.

That's the funny thing about fans... they don't play the game, so they get the luxury of looking ahead.

Yup, I know I'm looking ahead to PSU and EWU cause I will be at those games. The PSU game now has my particular interest because it was reported on another thread here that Matt Hermanson selfishly gave up one one hundredth of a second of his speed by drinking too many beers and I'm going to have my stopwatch out to see if that's true. I can't wait to find out the results of my experiment and therefore am completely looking past NAU, which by the way, has absolutely ZERO outcome on that game.

Fact - they were ranked #25 when we played them. Of course they are no longer ranked - we beat them, which would obviously knock them out of the polls. Any BCS team losing to an FCS team is always going to be considered a very bad loss.

Anyway, you can say what you want about OSU, the fact remains that they are 3-0 versus FBS opponents so far, with their only loss being to EWU. Granted, two of the teams they beat (Hawaii and San Diego State) are pretty bad, but Utah isn't a bad team and they beat them in the road.

Anyway, most fans have moved on from that game. We know it's just one game - a nice win for the program, yes, but nobody thinks we're going to run the table or something because of it. It is what it is, I guess you could say.

I've "observed" one Eastern Washington University fan who does not seem to have moved on from what might be one of the biggest FCS over FBS upsets in history. Given that he represents about 20% of the fan base, I'm not sure that you can say nobody thinks the Eastern Washington University Eagles will run the table.

Fact - please do not respond to my posts until you go back and read the posts of your comrade, observer...Of course the OSU game was a good win! It was a great win for EWU and the Big Sky and all of the FCS.
