Are you suggesting that one team isn't supposed to match another teams run?
That's what an youthful team will do. I remember, Tinkle's early teams were like this.
Nothing in particular to play for ... and it shows. A win would be "nice," but would make no difference in the conference tournament seed.
Pride? Senior Night? Last home game of the season?
You would think so. But so far, meh ...

How fitting, an OT game.
Prolongs the agony.

But what the Hell ... maybe the Griz will actually show up. (If there's anyone left, with all the fouls.)

Start looking for anyone in the stands who has eligibility!

Wow! It doesn't get much uglier than this.

Yes it can. Sad to say. UM is a team that over achieved and this game shows how bad the season could have been.

I think it difficult to believe the Griz can win 3 straight in the tourney based on how they have looked the past several weeks.

67 combined free throws on a combined 56 fouls.

I'm no rocket surgeon, but that seems like a lot of both.

By any standard that is a lot of fouls, but the refs are not necessarily the problem. UM plays a lot like a team that has no plan, sorta like watching games at the Y. SUU didn't look much better. Neither is impressive this year. This TEAM needs to find a way to stay on the same page. You aren't going to go far depending upon one player even if he is the best on the floor.

I see our inability to hit some free throws down the stretch cost us another game. Wow imagine that!

I would suggest that allowing 84 points at home when you win with defense is the bigger issue.

'Fraid you're right.

Not much time for the coaches to work a "reset" and get the team ready to compete. At least the Bye gives them an extra day. What scares me is that the staff may have run out of tricks to mask the weaknesses. Sadly, I can, all too easily, see a one-and-done in the tournament.

Whatever the outcome, the Griz will hopefully get to play in some post-season tournament ... they clearly need a lot more practice and game experience.

Actually, the Griz shot a respectable FT percentage: 73.1%. SUU was not significantly better: 74.4%. But the Griz made just 19 points from the foul line (out of 26 tries), while SUU had 43 tries and made 32 of them. That's what cost UM the game. (They pretty much matched SUU shooting from the field.)
