South Dakota Injuries

Appeared two of SD starting linebackers and starting DL went down with injuries and I believe a RB but not sure, serious or not I don't know.
Just an observation when watching the replay. They are a much better team than last opponent .

They played 3 different tailbacks. Starter went out after a quarter or so....but did return later in the game. All 3 were decent.

Watching some highlights their QB looked pretty gunshy after getting hit a few times. Their RB looks tough and shifty, and their Dbs could make some plays they seem to be in the right place.

Secondary was their best position group in the game. Hard to tell if it is because they are truly good, or K-State didn't need to test them based on what they were doing on the ground...

I think their defensive line is their best group. They have a stud at DE and the guys in the middle have good size and play tough.

Badlands, I think you might have been watching some of their LB's. They play a 3-3-5 and the guy who wears "0" often lined up like a rush end, sort of like Patrick O'Connell does for us. The seven guys who played D-line against KSU combined for a total of 3.5 tackles including 1 sack.

D-lines are judged by more than production. Did they get moved off the ball? Did they make mistakes?

Bobby said they looked stout and that K state was not moving them off the ball well.

What do you think he's going to say? Seriously...

Yes - 3-3-5, and they will put LBs on the LOS at times.

They are a solid team and it's going to be a good early test. Keep your voices ready, Griz are going the need the home crowd!

#0 is a guy they're keenly aware of, he's a dude.

By contrast, the UM starting d-line combined for 1 solo tackles, 8 assists, and 2.5 sacks. So, a total of 9 tackles.

The USD official stats show that their 6 guys on this week's two-deep had 8 tackles and 1 sack. Assists are not .5 tackles in football stats; they are counted as 1 tackle.

Why are you trying to compare the 3 Griz starters to the entire Coyote's DL unit. Is that so the numbers look better for your case? Let's go apples to apples, and I'll use your numbers.

Last week ALL SD DL: 8 tackles, 1 TFL which was a sack ALL GRIZ DL: 17 tackles, 3.5 TFL of which two were sacks.

I edited the post several times, and forgot to take out the word "contrast". I was wanting to say the assists are considered full tackles. I didn't know who all the SD d-line were, except for the 6 listed in this week's two-deep, don't know who all the younger UM d-linemen are, know that one or more of Edwards' tackles was on special teams, and don't know if any other UM d-line play special teams. So, I just gave up and moved on. Wanted to get back to the more important stuff on showing you were dead wrong on what Hauck said about UM's o-line play and whether KS knocked SD's d-line off the ball. I'm fine with your stats, even tho the Griz stats are skewed slightly with one or more ST tackles.

Their starting OT was out for this game also.

Yeah i think hes back against the griz...and hes probably an NFL player.

Who? Jensen? He might be an important player for the Yotes, but he was 2nd team in his conference last year and 2nd team Pre-season All-American for FCS. He's got NFL size but "probably an NFL player" seems like a stretch at this point. How many O-Lineman from FCS make the NFL each year? 1 or 2? I've never seen the guy, and am open-minded and it's not impossible, but all this "future NFL-player" talk gets over-used on here. I remember arguing with one notoriously clueless poster on here that was sure that Sammy Akem would play in the NFL too. You know who you are.
