Alpha, Does this mean you don't believe JJ will be back?

And why is anyone surprised with the SSH comment. I mean he did end the season as QB1 and the Griz haven't had a single practice or drill since, so why would Delaney publicly take it away from him at this point, in his home town no less? I don't put a lot of stock in that statement having anything to do with the opening day starter for 2013.

Then you obviously did not see any games that McKinney played in. If you think SSH played worse than McKinney, you are crazy. If it is even close come opening day, they better let Gustafson play and let him learn during the early part of the season so we have a chance of getting better. Either that, or pray that Simis is ready to go as a true freshman. SSH may not be the answer, but you can bet it is not McKinney either. Given my choice between the 2, I would take SSH though. I would take out the zone read part of the offense. We have enough of an offensive line and talent at running back that we don't need a true dual threat quarterback. I would rather have some threat of completing a pass past the line of scrimmage.

Actually this QB question should have been asked after we new what type of offense we are attempting to run.

After Pflugrads slick and new offense was put in (I loved it) it was obviously way to modern for poor OLD Mickey D. Perhaps we will go with the old wing tee or have the full back half back set. Toss the ball 12 times per game and let er buck! Comfortable? Naw, my guess is that we will throw at least 24 plus times per game and go to a modified offense. No OC? Offensive head man? I can't give a judgement until I see what we plan to run?

shay's release was so slow and painful to watch...and he has no arm strength. I coulndnt take another game of him being the starter. At least Trent has room to improve and can make things happen with his legs...I agree with the guy who said SSH is the worst qb to ever start for the griz.

is that a picture or a video of him throwing a pass? All joking aside, SSH just doesnt have athletic ability to play at this level....he cant move in the pocket, he takes too long to get rid of the ball. There were times last year when he made the correct decision but took so long to get rid of the ball it was too late. Im not saying trent was amazing last year, but he has an upside, and is athletic and has arm strength.....he can improve with time in the system. With all that said, im excited about about Brady G....but with a few things i read on twitter during the trial about Jane Doe saying in a text something about she not thinking JJ did anything wrong or something along those lines, it may all be a moot point, with our #1 qb in place.

I have a feeling this trial is going to get UGLY for her. I hate to see it get ugly for either side, but that is the life of court cases with a charge like this. I am pulling for JJ's return. Yet, if he is guilty, I do believe he should be locked up and the key thrown away.

I am sure the starting QB spot is the least, and last of his concerns.

TM could be a great qb for the Griz if we never, ever, eeeeevvvvveeeeeeeeeer had to throw the ball. He just isn't accurate past 2.4 yards...(made up stat)

I just have a question for anyone that can answer it. If JJ is innocent and decides he wants to return and play football, would he be a walk on because we already used his scholarship on somebody else... Or how would that work?

lol nice stat! and im not saying he was accurate last season, but look at Cole B his freshman year...he was brutal....kids grow up, evolve, become better players. Shay was not accurate either...the difference between SSH and TM is that TM has a good arm, doesnt take all day to get rid of the ball and can be effective making thigs happen with his legs. If trent continues to work and become more comfortable in the offense as he grows up he could be an effective qb....as for SSH i just dont see the physical tools..he is a statue back there with an extremly slow release and weak arm..i wish it wasnt true but thats how i see it.

Huh?? I can agree on the slow release... but he was a sihtload better than the Misfirin' Hawaii'n. Better go rewatch your North Dakota game.

So should people go back and watch TMAC in the App State game? Arguably the best performance all year and against some very good competition. TMAC was too young to be consistent. If, he is committed to the off season, I like his potential too. As the season played out, hard to really be 100% sold on any one QB at this stage.

He has a weak arm...he floats passes, and he has a weak arm! Im sorry i forgot for a qb to be good they arent allowed to be mobile or short..right?

and u might wanna watch every game after the UND game if you think SSH is a shit load better than ANYBODY. You think we would have even sniffed a victory against APP ST with SSH, give me a break

That picture is great. It just shows you how not to throw the ball.. Look how far his elbow is sticking out, no wonder why his release is so slow.... The kid need some serious help with that release.

Yes it was. McKinney's would have been worse. Cat defense was the best we played against all year.

winner, winner, steak and fries dinner....neither qb will get the Griz where they need to be.

If I remember correctly, many people were skeptical of Cole Bergquist after his FR year. Many said he would never be a quality QB. Well he turned out pretty damn good his final season . Who is to 100% know and say Trent McKinney cannot do the same, or even better?
