So what DID happen with the Sac St. game?

The way the Griz have played most of the season, you have to wonder what happened at Sac St? I don't know if this has been posted before but the Griz have lost the last 4 post-bye-week games:

2019 Sac St 49, Montana 22
2018 UC Davis 49, Montana 21
2017 Weber State 41, Montana 27
2016 Cal Poly 42, Montana 41

Note the remarkably similar scores...

And in 2015 there were actually two bye weeks (yikes!), and the Griz went 1-1:

Liberty 31, Montana 21
Montana 42, North Dakota 16

So after a bye week the Griz will probably lose, scoring in the 20's with their opponent scoring in the 40's. UGLY.

In my humble opinion throw that game out. They just did not play well just like sac state didn’t play well against weber. Shit happens!

Sac state D-line is exceptional. They lead the league in sacks and opponent rushing avg (3.1 yds per carry).

That group had a lot to do with it.

GRIZ will need to show some improvement against an elite front seven with weber and cats upcoming.

Given the recent stats, I think the "Bye Week Blues" helped Sac State look better than they really are. I consider that loss an outlier. And I petition for no more bye weeks (or at least figure out a way to get the team ready to play!).

Absolutely correct. O line got owned that game and it look like they regressed. Had good progress until that game and I will chalk it up to the bye week. Stupid penalties as well that drove me nuts. One linemen in particular. Weber will be a real test. Play calling is going to have to help out as well. Especially early In the game. Weber is not a high production offense that is equipped to get behind by a lot of points. Pour the gas to them early and they may struggle. Going to be a good one. First - peel some spuds today and then look to skin some cats

Drops had a little something to do with the loss also. Akem drops what would've been a 75yd TD, Bingham drops a sure-fire TD, and Toure, on what would've been an amazing catch, serves the ball right up to the DB on his diving effort. Those 3 plays go the other way, we could have an entirely different outcome. Definitely played a role.
