Smoke

Missoula school district athletics air quality. See link to a recent article.

I believe the below link is the same link as in the article. See the reference to cancellation of events at 150. In my experience, the school district has cancelled events where the air quality was below 150 too.

http://newstalkkgvo.com/files/2017/08/Activity-Guidelines-for-Wildfire-Smoke-Events.pdf

It was 168 in Missoula at 1pm.

This is what was said in the Missoulian around the time of the NDSU game in 2015.

"Montana's head trainer J.C. Weida says athletic directors from both teams will meet on Saturday and decide what to do if the air quality is still "very unhealthy." Earlier this week, associate athletic director Chuck Maes told the Missoulian the air quality would have to be "really, really, really bad for us to shut it down."

Under the old superintendent, and a couple of the ex athletic directors at the high schools, they would cancel it if someone farted... It got to the point of ridiculous.

Your AD has big decision and i'm sure he will play the game regardless of the risk to the UM fans. It seems like >80% of your fan base is older than 70 and the respiratory distress is going to be scary. Honestly, I have attended many games in WA Griz and have witnessed so many UM fans totally out of breath and panting from simply walking a few stairs, and this was under optimal conditions. Of course the potential $ made from this game will certainly outweigh the risk.

The game will be played. The smoke is bad, but not horrible. It could get better, as it was last week.

The decision will not be based on the good of the fans. The fans can decide whether to come or not. The game is on tv. Any decision would be based on the players.

UM doesn't have a bunch of fans over 70. Sorry, just not true. You are a liar. You are also an idiot. You have been an idiot for your entire time on egriz.

Feel free to come back on this or anything. I am paying attention, and prepared to run you out of the gym.

I know 70 year olds in this state that drag elk off of mountains. They wouldn't have any trouble with you pal.

Sensitive group tonight. Honestly, most Montanans drag elk off the mountains with ATVs. Wasn't that way when I was a grad student there in the early 90s.

No need to worry about me. I can run circles around you anytime, anywhere. You are a loser and a low life. You don't understand the game, you never played the game, and you are a jerk.

Perhaps one on one tackling at the Mo Club bar, along the bar. No pads, rugby style, carry a football. It's still my best "event".

Actually I did play the game and with your reputation for being fond of male athletes, I think I will pass on the “contact” challenges. Nothing wrong with it, Just not my lifestyle.
I bet you run up to the M every morning after you lift.

Missoula AQI is 163 and rising. Nearby Seeley Lake is off the charts high.

I located charts for the NDSU game 2 years ago, and yes the smoke was much worse than today. Couldn't see the actual AQI number, though.

Doubt that you ever played the game. Your posts give you away. You seem to be a mid-40's wimp who is yet to accomplish anything worthwhile. Thus, you spend time being a troll on another team's message board.

Um excuse me PR, being the 7th largest meth distributor in the eastern Washington/Northern Idaho greater Meth Region is nothing to scoff at.

Does anyone else get the feeling that even if PR was arguing with someone over the best type of sandwich, he would eventually drop the "I doubt you ever played the game" line?

I have pointed out about 10 posters who never played the game. And, to my knowledge, I have been right on all of them. At some point, when some posters are saying stupid things repeatedly, I feel obligated to point this out. I don't care if anyone played the game, or knows the game, but please don't keep repeatedly acting like you know what you're talking about and saying stupid things, if you don't know what you're talking about. It's surprising to me how many of them start whining and crying.

A steady downfall of ash during that game as well.

I was just picking up my UW tickets and bumped into someone who I'd think has a good pulse on if the game would be in jeopardy because of the smoke. His answer, "game on."

It's not going to be cancelled.

It was 184.

They will if it get as bad as Seeley is right now. 513. Holy Gawd.
