I believe the below link is the same link as in the article. See the reference to cancellation of events at 150. In my experience, the school district has cancelled events where the air quality was below 150 too.

It was 168 in Missoula at 1pm.
This is what was said in the Missoulian around the time of the NDSU game in 2015.
"Montana's head trainer J.C. Weida says athletic directors from both teams will meet on Saturday and decide what to do if the air quality is still "very unhealthy." Earlier this week, associate athletic director Chuck Maes told the Missoulian the air quality would have to be "really, really, really bad for us to shut it down."
