Simis to WR

MS is an excellent athlete and any coach wants to get his excellent athletes on the field somehow. Maybe Makena's heart really wasn't in being a QB? Maybe he'd rather play as a WR for the Griz than transfer anywhere else? If so I commend his commitment to the team. I see this as a win-win and I look forward to seeing MS tear it up at WR.

Well, I did note elsewhere over a month ago that his seasonally adjusted rushing yardage was the highest on the team, about 100 yds more than Nguyen, closing in on a thousand yards. There's potential there, and I pointed it out. "Others" predicted confidently that he would not be on the team.

"Others" predicted confidently that he would not be on the team as a QB.....and if he wanted to play QB it would be somewhere else....

Josh Paffhausen switched when Ah Yat got the nod. That worked out well.

True, but I always thought Paffer was the better QB

Ah Yat did play well and threw for a boatload of yards, with that roundhouse motion, but Paffer could've produced similar numbers and wins at QB

Josh was the better athlete IMO -- perhaps a matter of best combination of players, since Ah Yat couldn't hold Paffer's jock at another skill position. Maybe I'm just being a Bulldog homer, I played with both of Josh's brothers.

Regardless, Simis, like Paffhausen, willing to switch to WR to help the team with a good attitude goes a long way for them as men as well as the team.

Cannot tell if serious..... If so, you're out of your ever lovin' mind. BAY is likely one of the top 10 QBs ever to play in the bsc.

Oh, and I love the Simis move to wideout.

Amusing. Josh may have been the better athlete (and props to him for making the most of the position change), but to even put him in the the same galaxy as Ah Yat as a QB is ridiculous.

Simis could be the new "Ben Roberts" type of receiver. He's a good athlete and he knows the offense. Give 'em hell, Makena!

I caught passes from Josh's older brother Todd Paffhausen. He lead us to a couple state championship games, had a rocket arm. All 3 of those brothers were stud QBs. We lost ours, but Josh won his state championship.

It's probably far easier to bail on the team and head somewhere else and re-start (I'd guess) so big props to Makena for sticking with his fellow teammates and making a position switch to best help out. I hope it works out well for him!

While I hope for the best, I would prepare for the worst. He does not have the fluid hip movements that you see in top level receivers. I really don't see him being on the field. I would love him to prove me wrong, but I don't see it.

Have you watched him run a lot of routes to make that assessment? :? :?

He doesn't pivot well around his spine either so he certainly couldn't be a good golfer. Nor does two step very well so don't expect him to be on Dancing with the Stars. The guy should stick with soccer where all you have to do is run around and kick things. He could probably do that. Seriously, don't you just love a critique based on ZERO real information?

But could Makena Simis beat the '95-'96 Bulls?

Anatomy, Physiology, Kinesiology, and Biomechanics background. I have seen him run many times in the open field on keep on the zone read. I see what I see from my education and 25 years of applying it. It is my observation only. It is my opinion. Not based on anything buy observation and my background. Like I said, I would love for him to prove me wrong. It wouldn't be the first time I have been proven wrong. I will come on here and state I was wrong if he does.
