In country south. This should drive JJ and Bobcat Brad( I can feel you in here reading but not posting) nuts. Come on TV guy, get to work on those JC contacts. How many scholarships are available? Where currently are the UM recruiters?
Makes for good conversation on a chilly day at the lake.

thanks, gb1.

as to our other long-playing "issue," let me cite one of my most firmly-held beliefs: truth is generally seen but rarely heard.

I love it when you talk in riddles.

Could it be Michael Harthun who is from Oregon but playing in Houston at the AAU tourney?

3 Star ranked #20 at his Pos. POINT GAURD

OR

Jared Cunningham 3 Star 6'8" forward

Also in Houston

Michael Harthun, a 6-foot-3 junior point guard from South Medford High in Medford, Ore.,

is one of the top point guards in the West Coast class of 2008. Harthun had a terrific junior season and a number of Pac-10 programs have been expressing interest. We received word recently from Harthun’s club coach, Glenn Johannes, that Harthun has been offered a scholarship by Oregon State. Pepperdine, Washington State and Montana have also offered

I think it might be the two above and Greg Plater. All play for the Portland Panthers and are all in Houston for the tourney. Plater has stated that Montana is on the top of his list.

Greg Plater of McKay may be the best scorer in 6A no one has heard about. Granted, he was first team all-league and honorable mention all-state last year, but I had never read about him or seen him play until this week, when he beat Wilson with a buzzer-beater.

Greg Plater is an electric perimeter player
Despite great speed that makes one think he could take it to the basket at will, Plater loves the outside shot. Against Wilson, he was 8-17 from behind the arc, and many of those were near NBA range. He pulled the Royal Scots from a nine-point fourth-quarter deficit, hitting two threes in the closing minute. Then, with 4 seconds remaining and the score tied, he took the inbounds pass coast to coast to end the game in regulation.

Plater can drive and create shots in the key, but why walk when you can fly? Of his 35 points, only three came of free throws and he took only seven two-point attempts.

Despite all the bomb-throwing, I wouldn't call Plater a selfish player. He passes freely, though not always accurately. For someone who can shoot the eyes out of the basket from 30 feet, you'd think he would notice players in the opponents' jerseys cutting in front of the guys he's trying to pass to. I wasn't counting his turnovers, but it would have taken more than one hand. He's a shooting guard; not a point guard.

Greg Plater good possibility, but for some reason quite a few D-1 programs have taken a pass on him. 60% chance.

Michael Harthun Not going to happen....at least this yea, he is a junior

Jared Cunningham 3 Star 6'8" forward Possible but not likely. first he is a boarder line qualifier, still needs to get a passable grade on the ACT/SAT. Two while he is currently living in Oregon he would really like to get back to the northeast where he grew up. Third he is talking that if he qualifies he would like to sign with St. Johns or Depul. 20% chance

Now here are a few other possibilities:

DeLuis Ramirez Odessa (TX) Odessa (Tex.) JC

Ht: 6-foot-4
Wt: 200 lbs
DELUIS is a strong built wing who can get to the hole and score in traffic. He can take contact and finish in the lane, has a nice stroke from 15-17 feet, and runs the floor well. he averaged 8.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 2.8 assists.

He is working pretty hard right now to graduate from JC there are some questions. BTW if a coach flew into Houston and then took a rental car to Odessa, he needs to get a new booking agent. My guess is that it is a 300 mile plus drive.

30% chance

Based on what I know and what Mic has posted I am guessing the Griz are both scouting the AAU tourney in Houston and taking in some time at some of the local JC talent. To be honest though the Griz seem to be really connected with two JC programs called Midland and Odessa and they are on the opposite side and quite a bit north of Houston, but still I think the Griz will sign a JC wing out of Texas. There are two very talented JC 6-4 wings from California that the Griz are/were involved with (as well as the Cats) so if the Griz signed their wing out of Texas that makes me happy.

Here is a list of players that have not signed yet but have been in conversation with the Griz this year.

OK I can not add this to the upper post but remember the name "Taylor" as a D-1 transfer. GB1 ccan fill you in. Not even close to 100% but pretty close unless Gonzaga (non-Scholarship) beats the Griz (scholarship) out.

I'm not one to speculate or start rumors, but I am really impatient when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'm not saying this guy is who Mslacat is talking about, but he was Iowa States MVP and might be kicked off the team. Shoplifting cold medicine is pretty sketchy. I don't know. Just throwing this out there.

OK the Taylor I am thinking about is Micheal Taylor originally from the State of Washington and attended EWU last year. Was recruited by the Griz out of high school and played as a true freshman a 6-4 Point Guard. I heard a rumor a little over a week ago and the rumors persist. Would redshirt and then have three years of eligibility if he chooses to transfer.

Come on, someone break the news soon! I hate waiting. My hopes are for athletic wings,AKA Mayes with better ballhandling skills. Good sized Guards, 1 more big man that can blockshots (unless Vanderjagt/ Qvale can do this), and 1 or 2 players that consistently take the ball to hole. I was very disappointed this past season with so few players willing to go to the hole. Exception being Ellis, for the most part at least.

Patience. I think it's worth waiting for. See after 22 years with the program, I do "coach speak" as wellas they do. LOL.
