If i had the money i would build a stature in honor of "The Dunk"

I love this idea.

People would stand and face "The Dunk" during the national anthem rather than that boring old flag.
Don't be retarded Mung. It sounds like you need to make a move. I hear Antartica is nice!!!

It was not the best dunk I have ever seen by a Montana kid, I have to give that to Kral Ferch of msu in the NCAA against St John's. That being said, I don't think there have been any that were more fun to see because I believe it was the only time Criswell has dunked in a game in his career, and for it to come on Sr Night in his last game at Dahlberg, how good is that?

You cannot say enough good things about Criswell, talk about a guy who doesn't know he isn't supposed to be that good. Good for him! :thumb:

Agree'd GB1, Kral and Shan(sp?) were probably the best dunkers I have ever seen in person, regardless of race. It just seemed like they never came down after they jumped.

As far as last nights dunk, it was something out of this world. I thought I was going to have a heart attack at age 21. I'm sure it was like that for his teamates too by the way they reacted. Great way to finish it off, I couldnt of thought of a better way to close this chapter of his career. To get your first career dunk, get fouled on the dunk, make the free throw, and then start the walk off the court.

My hats of to Coach Tinkle. One man who stuck by Kevin through it all, and you could see it in the tears in his eyes before the game, and when Kevin was subbed out of the game.

Wish I could be in Flagstaff, but if it comes out right, I'll be in SLC in a few weeks.

Once again, Thank you Big John and Virgil. I only wish you both could have had a full career at UM.

As far as Kevin goes, there is not enough words for the thanks deserved for your effort throughout these years. And that mighty one handed dunk seemed to sum it all up in one posterizing slam on top of that NAU player.

Poor Cringer, you missed it, the second best white guy dunk you would have ever seen.

Dan Trammel with the put back dunk against the Cats at the buzzer in Bozeman. Best dunk ever. It will take an awful lot to top that one.

Kevin's dunk was more about the sequence of events and the fact that it was his last play ever in Dahlberg. You really couldn't have written a better ending.

Agreed.. I've thought that since it happened...

My vote for the best Griz dunk all time was...

Keith Crawford over Rick Herrin of N-Reno. I was sitting in front of the band, litterally it was like doctor j. Sent the crowd like Criswell into an utter frenzy. He took off from the foul line. I about died at the young age of 14 when that happened. He was fouled and went to the line. He just elevated and kept floating. Truly impressive.

Wish I could have been there for the Criswell dunk.

Its just to bad MGR couldnt have a steady hand with that camera, or else we all would have had a good picture to look at. Just jokin around, he might have been better off, if I hadnt been shaking him, and jumping all around with the rest of the section we had there.

#1...Utterly cool of Criswell to get his only career dunk on senior night....a nice touch for sure.

#2...Someone said it was the greatest dunk ever....All I'll say is Slim Millien had 80 or so in two years, and he's had some of the best I've seen in a college game. Criswell's might have been the most unexpected dunk, but probably not the greatest.

#3...If you are making a statue (which you aren't, but if you were), wouldn't it by of Kevin diving for a loose ball? I meant, that's what Criswell is...hustle and heart (and a pesky way of playing that tends to piss off people...I don't have a problem with a kid who hates to lose, though).

Scary about the Griz in hoops...Hasquet can score 30......lots of folks can jump up and beat you..honestly, if Martin goes for like 26 in a tournament game, is anyone THAT surprised?

Slim has some great dunks. There is no doubt about it. So did Kamaar Davis, and Al Beye. I think one reason this one was so cool, besides the fact it was senior night and all that, was that fact that he is 6-8 inches shorter then those guys. And that for most of the almost 6000 in attendence, it was completely unexpected.

Now, its off the tourney, the BSC one that is. Can't look past it, thats for sure!!!

Yeah Bengal Backer..... cause everyone is impresssed by a 6'7" guy with the wingspan of a small airplane dunking. Does he even have to jump to dunk it? If Slim had half the heart, smarts and competitive fire of Kevin he would be at a big time program. Instead he was lured to Idaho State, probably heard great stories about girls at retail stores giving away lots of free stuff to basketball players. Who could honestly turn down a recruiting pitch like that. Oh and I'm sure your middle school sized arena was a major selling point.
Get a clue buddy! :lame:

That was one hell of a dunk. I was at half court, when Crawford headed to the bucket you could just feel something coming. That was so in-your-face.

Montana Gym Rat, tell your brother he is an inspiration for hopefully all of us. I know all my friends and I really look up to him.

Bengal fan wasn't criticizing Criswell. I wouldn't be talking smack about a player that DESTROYED us the last time we played ISU. Millen is a good player. I don't think any players have the heart, smarts and competitive fire of Criswell.

What happenned to Slim last night? Were they doubling him? I thought he would have some big numbers against EWU.

You are totally missing the point! This whole thread was a fun loving tribute to a great moment, for a great player and person. To jump in with talk about a guy from New York, who had to go 1500 miles west to be a star, is out of line. He might not have been criticizing Criswell, but it was uncalled for at best. And I was talking smack about their program, do some research and you might understand what I was talking about.

Can't remember who did it but what about the dunk that broke the backboard in the old Dahlberg?

You couldn't write a better ending to the Criswell story than his first ever dunk in a game on a break-away, and one, then coming off the floor to CRIS-WELL, CRIS-WELL! I couldn't believe it.

That was Nate Covill. I think the BB team poster the next year had Nate with a basketball rim in his hand :P
