He's one of my best friends. He comes to MT to fish. Stays at my house sometimes. I introduced him to some Griz several years ago in Missoula. I had arranged for him to come to a PRP, and the team had switched the days of practice for him, but he got hung up in Chicago airport for 10 hours and missed practice. I stay with him at his home in Charleston every few years. My 36 year old daughter is good friends with him too. We texted today over fishing. When my daughter played rugby for Dartmouth, he and his wife came with me and my wife to the rugby's team's big BBQ in Malibu on their spring trip. He was a hit. We were the same class in college. I met him at the Hula Bowl my senior year. I went with him and some Cornell buddies to Nassau for spring break that year. He spent his NFL summers in NJ (where he was from) and NYC, when I was a lawyer there. We hung out alot. He introduced me to alot of Ford and Wilemina models and some NFL people, including Joe Namath. He tried to get me to go in on a condo in Fort Lauderdale with him and Joe. I didn't, but should have. Namath and Marinaro had the same agent. His longest run his senior year was against Dartmouth and on ABC tv (with the no. 1 ABC crew). I ran him down from the opposite corner, but it was a long run. In the lead up to the Heisman and the day of it, the video of me chasing him was shown a bunch of times. They forgot to mention my name. Ed was runner-up for the Heisman. Should have won it. Led nation in rushing his last 2 years. Set about 20 NCAA records. The last he had, career average per game, was a record that had been held by Jim Thorpe. He played in 2 Super Bowls with Vikes. I'd post some photos of Ed in MT if I knew how.
