Shafer hit vs Harper hit

He's one of my best friends. He comes to MT to fish. Stays at my house sometimes. I introduced him to some Griz several years ago in Missoula. I had arranged for him to come to a PRP, and the team had switched the days of practice for him, but he got hung up in Chicago airport for 10 hours and missed practice. I stay with him at his home in Charleston every few years. My 36 year old daughter is good friends with him too. We texted today over fishing. When my daughter played rugby for Dartmouth, he and his wife came with me and my wife to the rugby's team's big BBQ in Malibu on their spring trip. He was a hit. We were the same class in college. I met him at the Hula Bowl my senior year. I went with him and some Cornell buddies to Nassau for spring break that year. He spent his NFL summers in NJ (where he was from) and NYC, when I was a lawyer there. We hung out alot. He introduced me to alot of Ford and Wilemina models and some NFL people, including Joe Namath. He tried to get me to go in on a condo in Fort Lauderdale with him and Joe. I didn't, but should have. Namath and Marinaro had the same agent. His longest run his senior year was against Dartmouth and on ABC tv (with the no. 1 ABC crew). I ran him down from the opposite corner, but it was a long run. In the lead up to the Heisman and the day of it, the video of me chasing him was shown a bunch of times. They forgot to mention my name. Ed was runner-up for the Heisman. Should have won it. Led nation in rushing his last 2 years. Set about 20 NCAA records. The last he had, career average per game, was a record that had been held by Jim Thorpe. He played in 2 Super Bowls with Vikes. I'd post some photos of Ed in MT if I knew how.
See hoops if this was every post i’d love getting to hear everything you have to say. This is so informative an has like thought and care upt into it and gives me a good idea of the relationship you guys had. I don’t get frustrated at your comics because they are against me but because i want to be an informed fan the same as you.

All of my substantive posts are informative.

It was a threat. A 21 year old punt trying to tell 45 year lawyer what the law is. You are clueless. Did you ever tackle Ed Marinaro, Calvin Hill, or Dick Jauron?
Hoops:

Sorry to change the subject. Your mentioning of Ed Marinaro reminded of my childhood, with my uncle screaming at the television during a Vikings game (his favorite team) . It was a goal to go play. Marinaro received the hand off and started dancing around instead of attacking the hole. My uncle stated that he needed to find a new profession, which he did. Tackling crime on Hill Street Blues.

What would you do if you found out he did? He played intramurals and was very good. So many posting about things they are clueless about.
He quite literally ran track in college as his primary thing, no real athlete counts intramural as “playing the game”.

Daniel said he doesn’t know who you are. I have known him for over 10 years. The girl I was dating in 2015 and 2016 is close friends with Keiko, Daniel’s girlfriend at the time and now wife. They live in Seattle area where Daniel is from and are parents to a daughter and twin boys.
Hoops about to find out he’s nothing but another booster to these kids. The kids i know don’t give af about who he is either lol.

No reason for him to know me, but he must not have a great memory if he can’t remember the conversation about my connection to Marinaro/Marty Daniels, his uncle and thay being my senior year. Ha. I dont remember Daniel kicking FG’s for Griz either even though I think he did. He seemed like a nice kid in our 30 or 60 second conversation.

You don’t know who I know and who has worked for me. No reason for anyone to know me. I’m not just another booster to the guys who invite me to their weddings or who come to the lake or Big Sky as the years go, ie the ones I know. I don’t think players know boosters anyway. Why would they?

Marinaro wasn’t a dancer. He hit the holes. He didn’t have the speed or moves to dance.

I would disagree. Your statement that he didn’t play in college is a lie. Now if you had said he didn’t play for the Grizzlies you’d have been correct, but you didn’t hence the lie or perhaps uneducated on the topic. Even club sports or pick up games can be competitive and intense.

They probably need to avoid boosters especially those bearing hot dogs

The NCAA hasn't added the hip drop tackle as a penalty. The NFL added in 2024 and I just googled that it has been called only 3 times in 2025. It really is a hard call for officials. I always cringe in college and NFL when those tall TE's and RB's like Gronk and Derrick Henry get hit low like that. But the hard thing is how you would define the penalty? The NFL and NCAA have both added poorly written rule changes over the years that leave the officials as the ones that have to try and enforce it. I haven't watched replay of game so I can't comment too much of these specific plays.
Can anyone explain the difference with the hip drop tackle and horse collar tackle? Seems both have a similar effect on the ball carrier.

Okay ordigger how about you tell me where bobby “played”. Bobby was a pole vaulter for the griz track team.

Do you think your the only person that knows about law, My brother is an ADA in the Denver area and a lead prosecutor for their hate crimes unit, i decided to ask him just for fun if it was a threat because fuck you hoops i can. He also agreed that he doesn’t believe that’d fall under the definition of a “threat”. and then we both agreed that anyone that would consider that a threat is probably the worlds biggest pussy and secretly cheers for the cats.
When I talked to the FBI and Missoula police, they took it as a threat.

They took a hypothetical scenario in which someone didn’t even mention you in particular just that if someone was wishing harm upon a member of their family that they’d need life insurance. What officer or agent told you that jack? I’m seriously curious.

190. Played against him multiple years. I was a good tackler and a hitter. No tackling knees for me.

He threatened me. You are a dumb 21 year old. I was a lawyer for 45 years. It floating. Just telling a little story. You are too big if pussy to defend our country. And too stupid. It my doesn’t make me look tough at all. I would have looked to see you tackle the Columbia TE and future 13 years Redskin Hog. He was good Columbia hoops has player too.
What?? High paid proofreaders got the day off?
