MBBALL Semifinal Game Thread

Why do we hesitate, decided to take the breakaway lay-in, and let the ball get stripped? Dribbling out and taking 20 seconds off clock would have made the win much easier.

Nice win. Great first half and early second half. Some stupid fouls down stretch. Nice FT shooting down stretch but only 16-22. PSU was 24-27. But only 22-70, 31%, and 4-28 from 3.

Maybe I should have kept my fancy rooms at the Grove hotel at the arena for tonight and tomorrow. About $950 for the 2 nights, tho.

Isaak made some absolutely boneheaded plays down the stretch. Threw the ball away the next possession and proceeded to lose the only 3 pt shooter PSU has. Glad he came through and knocked down the FTs to redeem it.

Lot's to bitch about, but a win anyway. And we should keep a bit of perspective. These are kids, or barely beyond it. Nerves under pressure happen ... sometime good, sometimes not. They faced the best team in the Sky, judged by the season record. That "best" team made a late-game run ... but, in the end, failed. One more, and the Griz are in the Big Dance. Works for me.

GO GRIZ!

We let them get to the free throw line way too much tonight. That’s single handedly how they stayed in the game. They shot 31% from the field and 14% from three. With those numbers this game shouldn’t have even been close. We have a terrible time breaking the press. Been a staple of Decuire teams over the years. Regardless, they don’t ask how in March! Onto the title game!

Love staying at The Grove--great view of Downtown Boise--and eating at Chandler's : ) !!!

The Griz got back on their heels and couldn’t stop the athleticism of Portland State. If you look at the stats the Griz had 17 turnovers while the vikings had only 6. That’s 11 more possessions but the Griz still won. Why Travis hasn’t been able to recruit the athleticism is a mystery to me. But the Griz still won, we’ll take it!

CHOKE!!!!! CHOKE!!!! CHOKE!!!!
I am livid! Furious! That was one of the worst coaching jobs that I have seen in the history of Montana basketball. Maybe in all the years I’ve watched college basketball.
Could not break the press. And with old mo clearly on their side we did nothing to stop it, like a counter press.
As much good as Money did for his career, Travis pretty much ruined his tonight.

Travis can’t coach athletes onto the floor. Putting Chase in was a good move, but this team needs more dudes. That will be something for the offseason, unfortunately.
