What are you guys talking about? According to Alpha, your secondary is even better than last year's!

So other than our QB situation can you name one position that we didnt improve on from last year even with the people we lost?

CB - Nope, we lost TJ and gained Nate Harris and I will even be so bold as to say as a group we are WAY better at Cb than we were last year. Goodwin, Dennard and Murray are very solid and give us depth we didnt have last year.

S - We lost McCord (Thank God) and have our true sophomore from last year Hermanson returning along with Tully who got torched in the SHSU game. We have a stud in waiting Lebsock who is always around the ball he seems to be playing a S/LB hybrid at times so far this fall and he is possibly the most talented Lebsock we have ever had. JC Transfer Coogan is a HAMMER he is 2 weeks in and already the WR and TEs are fearing this dude he lays it out there, if he gets this down hopefully Tully is an after thought.

In defense of AG, nobody could have predicted Hermanson's debacle season and the Coogan and Lebsock injuries. That is a lot to deal with. The injuries alone limit the coach's options greatly.

I could also bring up a Growler1 post (actually several) that stated that our OL was horrible at run-blocking. Was he wrong or do you have as big a problem defending the run as we have defending the pass?

It is a bit premature to say that our O-line is great, because of this one game. I guess you do not remember the second halfs of the games against App. State and NAU. EWU had a terrible run defense. We still had way too many no-gains on running plays.

What's your basis for saying EWU "had a horrible run defense"? Before the last game, EWU was right at or near the top of the conference in run defense. They gave up 88, 108 and 165 rushing yards against Idaho, Wash St and Weber St. Just under 4 yards per carry. 2 rushing td's. Long runs of 11, 27 and 19. I agree EWU's run defense didn't look good against the Griz, but perhaps that was largely due to the Griz running game being good in the game.

Idaho run O sucks period, no debate
WSU's offense is Leaches Air Attack, they don't run the ball
Weber is not good at all this year

So in reality the only one that has tested their run defense at all his year is um and EWU failed on that account, they have a weak and thin LB group partially due to injury
