Seating at EWU

The regulars know the players and you can end up in many great conversations. Many of each of our players had been recruited by both schools or come from the same recruiting areas.

In my many times there, young obnoxious and cocky Griz fans have been more of a problem, embarassing the rest of us. There are bad apples on both sides.

Don't worry about it and have fun. Don't let anybody ruin your day.

This...in the end there is a mutual respect from both fan bases, the Griz program is what Eastern strives to be. There are going to be some bad apples with every fan base, but those of you that come to the game on Saturday will find a lot of quality Eastern fans that will be more than happy to have the Griz and their fans in town.

Second both of these posts ... Last year someone threw dog sh&t at us when we walked by a tailgate. It was unpleasant but the jerk was so drunk off his ass he probably thought he was showering us with Hersey bars! If I went by that treatment I'd assume every Griz fan was a jerk and I know better. :thumb:
 
I know the 18 EWU fans semi personally and they are all douchebag carneys with an inferiority complex that makes Tom Arnold look uber arrogant.

The only guy that posts with any frequency and doesnt make me want to vomit is Kalm......there is no way he is a true EWU fan. I am pretty sure he isnt gay, has never worked at a circus and doesnt intend to bed his sister.

Anyone making excuses for the shittiest fan base in football at any level, is related.

your best bet though, is to assume that every fizz fan is a dickhead, until they are able to prove otherwise. :shock:
 
When we went there last year, we had no problems minus the drunk kid who wanted to fight us. Get there early, parking is a bitch!

I find it laughable that for the seventh year in a row I have to come on here and defend our fans...

I became and Eag fan 11 years ago, and at that time the fan base was pathetic. You won't find a single person to dispute that. Then with winning ways came a more sophisticated fan base. The students were slower to adapt but their fanhood increased as well. Now it's one of the better fanbases in the Big Sky, as evident by the thousands that descended on Frisco, TX for the National Championship game. Remember all of this growth has happened in the last seven years. A small window for sure, but one that even the biggest EWU hater has to recognize. Our stadium has gotten better (the new screen we will unveil on Saturday should be exciting), our game-day amenities have improved, the team has obviously improved, and really the whole experience has improved.

Say what you will, but I know that Griz fans LOVE coming to Cheney for this game because it gives them as excuse to hang out in Spokane for the weekend. Plus the game is always damn good as well. Incidents on game day are isolated at best, and no different than any other stadium in America on a Saturday or Sunday. So drop the BS, quit hating, and enjoy the weekend everyone!

I got exactly this far.... before I called BS on the post.

We all know you're not going to show up because you know the Griz will lose, and your arrogant, ignorant "pride" won't allow you to eat the crow you deserve. If only you enjoyed crow as much as you enjoy d*ck........ :coffee:

I truly hope that you don't show up... you're doing us a tremendous favor.
 
As far as the North End Zone, from the 2010 game game, it was mostly EWU parents and ALOT of Griz fans. The South End Zone below the new Video Scoreboard is general admission at $50/ seat which I bought Monday morning for some Montana folks that thought they couldn't get a ticket, so apparrently there are seats seats still available, cost my $100 for 2 seats, but could be the best seats in the house. If you don't want to come, watch it on "ROOT SPORTS", but you'll miss a great game LIVE. As far as Griz fans at EWU, had beers with them at halftime which were sold behind the North End Zone along with 20 plus porta-potties. After the EWU WIN, I had a differnt Griz crowd want to mix it up after the game with us in the north end zone seats, "the parents seats"! WEAK.
This was NOT representative of ANY of the Griz fans I talked with before or during that game, just some spoiled apples afterwards, I just ignored them and they went away. Winning is always the best cure.
Anyway, as an MSU Alum and an /Eastern Player Parent, you can see where I'm coming from. This game scares the hell out of me. EWU 31 Griz 28, and down to the last play again, damn!!
 
The question about a larger fan base is simple:

Washington State has two FBS teams and an NFL team. No matter the success of Eastern Washington, we will continue to be overshadowed by the fact that we are in a weaker division of football. I hoped this would be reversed by defeating UW or WSU, but unfortunately we lost by the skin of our teeth.

Montana has 0 FBS teams and 0 NFL teams. The strongest home grown football team they can follow are the local FCS teams. Since UM usually has the most success every season, they are able to fill a giant stadium.
 
I'll go your argument and go one better being from Montana, It's either MSU or UM in the entire state, which I'm from proud of. Yes you are right, EWU competes with Washington, Washington State, Idaho, Gonzaga, Seahawks, Mariners, Storm, Sounders, Trailblazers. The Montana schools compete with NOBODY besides themselves and the ranchers. I know this 1st hand, why do you think they have so many fans, I've been saying this for years, but good for them, get behind your teams, love it! As far as Alpha, don't take him serious, he's just there to stir the pot, never played a sport in his life. Still live's with his Mommy!! See you at Eastern BOY!
 
The low fan base/attendance argument is so old and overused! Yes, EWU has a much smaller fan base than Montana, and yes there are idiots among that fan base, just like every other one!

Also remember that Montana didn't always have the fan support they have now and I won't bring up the fact that e griz people have been bashing their "fair weather fan base" all week! EWU is improving every year and will continue to do so over the next few years!
