Sean Haynes

Has he just been erased from any contributions this season? He seems to see the field from time to time, plays in the slot but seldom gets thrown to. Coaches lack confidence in him? Jordie lacks confidence in him? Got the dropsies? Another tall, 6' 3" receiver would take some pressure off Ellis Henderson who will likely draw double coverage from here on. Comments?

Haynes has actually got a ton of run this season, especially with Walcott out. So I don't think it's a coaches situation. Once they're on the field, it's in JJ's hands as far as who gets thrown too. But I will say, I thought Haynes was going to be a baller three years ago, and it hasn't worked out. I know last year he was in the doghouse, but as far as PT goes, it appears he's out of it now because he's on the field ALOT.

Ellis has been getting doubled. Sean Haynes has had a couple big drops, one being in the endzone. Kid has tons of potential but just isn't putting it together on the field yet.

Don't underestimate his ability to block down field. He is very good at it. I think as secondaries start accounting more for Henderson, you will see more from him and the other receivers.

On JJ's first INT last game, it seemed like Haynes gave up on the pass when there were a couple defenders near by, which resulted in an easy pick for USD. I havent noticed him much other than that play this year.

This, he makes way too many mistakes from what I hear. Basically has to be told exactly what to do on every play and still often messes it up. I believe the first pick six was due to him running a wrong route. The guy looks the part but just doesn't perform like he needs to.

good observation...i saw that as well...it looked like he just stood there and watched the ball sail through the air instead of going after it.

I really don't get why people are acting like Ellis Henderson is suddenly going to see double coverage after the last game. He has been seeing double coverage routinely this season. Sean Haynes needs to step up and make a play because his window of opportunity to show his ability is slamming shut.

That's what I noticed too and posted it in another thread. If he'd kept going he might have had a chance at the ball or at least had a chance to prevent the interception.

Announcers said one of the receivers ran the wrong route, dragging 3-4 defenders into the area. There was obviously confusion between Haynes and EH, because neither went for the ball.

There definitely was some confusion on that play but when the ball is in the air you got to go for it regardless.
