Probably just a big F U to SDS which is a 100% warranted.Yes. From their bio -- "Your (fake) news source for anything regarding the best G6 conference in the FBS | PARODY Account"
Weird thing to parody, though, as it is possible and this really isn't seeming like there is a punchline.
They've already accounted for that by booking the lukest of warm up-and-coming musicians to perform at halftime and for the post-game fan fights. The Sac State board thinks they got into the MAC and that an announcement is coming next week. I'd say have fun playing on Tuesday and Wednesday nights but since nobody goes to their games already, they shouldn't have a problem with that lol.
You can't really go anywhere until you have an invite. What you can do in the meantime though is invest and make yourself look highly attractable. Keep winning and going on deep playoff runs (hopefully with a natty), keep having strong TV ratings both in the regular season and the playoffs. Brawl 2.0 had 2.8 million viewers on ABC, more than double what the the MWC championship game between Boise State and UNLV averaged. Putting the gears in motion for the WA-Griz west side expansion would also help! Most importantly, we gotta nail the Presidential hire! We need somebody who cares deeply about elevating the University in every facet, including Athletics. Somebody who is ambitious who will court donors and help fundraise the funds to afford a move up, and reaching out to conferences saying "look at our success on the field, and look at our successful TV ratings". We'll need help from the Legislature as well, but I know there's at least one State Senator from Missoula who's interested in funneling more state money into the Griz and cat Athletic Departments. If you'd like to help out with that, reach out! What is Montana's long term plan, do they have a master plan?? What if in a few years, SAC State, UC Davis go FBS. There is talk of Tarleton State and U South Dakota State pursuing FBS just like NDSU did. What happens then to Montana and the FCS.

That's true that all the main state funding/budget bills originate in the house, however the senate has been known to introduce many of their own budget bills as well. The state property tax bill last session originated in the senate and they are the ones that most often carry all the heavy lifting on any tax related bills. I think if they were to do a bill to give UM and msu more money, they wouldn't carve it into any of the general budget bills, and instead would look to direct something like resort tax or TBID tax towards that. I'm not really sure what the answer is, but as you can see from the tweet above she's open to ideas.FYI
In the Montana Legislature, the House of Representatives is the chamber most responsible for the initial drafting and shaping of the state’s funding.
While both the House and the Senate must eventually agree on a final budget, the "power of the purse" begins in the lower house.
I posted in another thread (Colter's interview with Kent) the direction funding is coming from
Currently they barely want to fund higher education at all.Anyone really think taxpayer money will be used to fund a move-up?
I would bet a shit-ton of money it ain't gonna happen...
Nobody said we would use taxpayer money to fund the move up. We could go out and fundraise that money just like NDSU did. What we would need the taxpayer money for is to strengthen the AD and University budget once you're in FBS. Scholarships are gonna increase as is general expenses and that's what you would need that money for.Anyone really think taxpayer money will be used to fund a move-up?

No kidding. They'd rather just dump all of the billion dollar budget surplus into the general fund and call it good. Those guys are the kings (and queens) of wanting to do as little work as possible.Currently they barely want to fund higher education at all.
I see - don't need it on Monday, but gonna need it on Tuesday.Nobody said we would use taxpayer money to fund the move up. We could go out and fundraise that money just like NDSU did. Well as much attachment to Bozeman that there is from the highest political positions in this state, I would say it’s as good a chance now as ever. We are one of only 3 states(?) without an FBS level university now. These guys don’t care about education, but they sure care about status.Anyone really think taxpayer money will be used to fund a move-up?

My point is - I highly doubt the voters would approve of funding the move-up in perpetuity...Well as much attachment to Bozeman that there is from the highest political positions in this state, I would say it’s as good a chance now as ever. It isn't just a rumor—the "professionalization" of college football is accelerating. While teams aren't being sold off like franchises just yet, the barrier between a university department and a private corporation is thinning rapidly. You can't really go anywhere until you have an invite.
