It's not snap count. Your QB signals the guard, and the guard taps the center, and the center snaps the ball. It wasn't rocket science. There was nothin discreet about it, and I know you did it for some of the final games of the season. I assume Stitt was just doing it to counter the noise, and he's arrogant enough to think that it doesn't matter if the D knows when you're snapping the ball because they can't stop you anyway. Of course this was true against us because our defense was shitty.

You have that last part right. I've never seen a more embarrassing unit. This year, I think they might get marginally better, but the offense sucks and has no QB. Could we possibly see another 0-fer in Bozeman this year? It's not impossible. 3-8 is my prediction. Maybe a few 3-8 seasons will lead to them finally canceling the program like the should have done years ago. It's a drain on the local economy with absolutely no redeeming qualities. There is no reason the state should keep running that charity.

Poorgriz, honest question here, and totally football related, with no Montana State/Montana smack intended. My question is, do you think Beau Baldwin is a good football coach?

Yes

Then you must think Beau is an arrogant SOB just like Stitt. Because last November, the Griz' D absolutely blasted and beat the living s--t out of all THREE EWU QB's and yet, they continued to do the leg-tap signal right up until the last play of the game. You must also think John Stiegelmeir is an arrogant SOB too because the Griz demolished SDSU's QB in the playoffs last year, and guess what? They did the leg-tap signal right up until the last play of the game.

Stitt, when asked about trick plays...he mentioned every play we run should be a "trick" play.
As most of you are wondering about Stitt's coaching ability I don't have much to go on either. Some of what we saw last season was horrible from a fan's view. I don't know the nuts and bolts of his offense but I am always impressed when I visit with him. I wish he would hire an Offensive coach to lead the Offense. And leave the overall team coaching for himself. Stitt is a very fast thinker and he might serve himself better by delegating the coaching duties to his staff. In the meantime we need to wait out this season because this is WAY to early to jump to conclusions.

Ya, Beau is pretty arrogant too. And for the record, sometimes teams have to go that route, we usually go to that of it's too loud for the center to hear the QB when in shotgun, obviously....

Yeah, that makes no sense at all.

Thanks for playing

Relax folks. Year in and year out, the Griz D routinely out performs the O in scrimmages. It means nothing. I'm pretty confident in both units heading into the season. A good year is ahead.....

With absolutely embarrassing results. The Cats might as well goose a hooker (RHS), point to a receiver, and then throw a 500 ball like always.

Wish Bob would delete that stupid swing pass play out of his playbook cause that play don't work when our receivers cant block down field.
Let's hope our new slew of receivers are better blockers. Just because one play didn't work with with one group of players doesn't mean it won't work with another.

And that generally was seen as a bad thing. Now, it's a good thing?
"I just didn't play to the level that I needed to for us to win the game," Gustafson said. "As a quarterback, you're going to see pressure and blitzes and stuff, ... but that shouldn't change anything for me."

The Bison had pressure on Gustafson on nearly every play, sacking him three times but disrupting his rhythm on innumerable occasions. That's because the Griz were tipping their hand, NDSU defensive tackle Brian Schaetz said.

"Just using their snap key that they had. With that guard tapping the hip, you could see it all day," Schaetz said. "... As a defensive line we saw that on film and we wanted to take advantage of it. We did today. I just based all my moves off of that."

"As good as I think they are offensively, for us to knock them out of rhythm and for us to rattle the quarterback, I thought we did a phenomenal job of showing different looks and having him confused," Klieman added.

When was that considered a bad thing?? I think it's generally been considered the expectation.

And the vast majority of those former GRIZ teams turned out just fine, sooooo....

After reading all the bitching about Mick Delaney, I am glad to see the acknowledgement ...

I have no idea what this means.

They ran that play a few times last Saturday and our receivers need to do a better job blocking. They had a hard time containing their blocks. It kind of looked like they were just pissing down their legs.

We are young and untested in that position but down field blocking needs to improve with this group.

Stitt has mentioned that last season they simply didn't have the time to work on WR blocking. It's a huge part of our offense though, could turn those short passes into big gains. That's one thing I'll be watching for this season.

Not saying it's good or bad... I'm saying it pretty much goes that way every year so no need for people to start freaking out that the offense is suddenly inept.

I think "this" offense has been widely credited as being a step above, based on comments like "my offense will beat anybody's defense," as the unfortunate jinx uttered prior to the Cal Poly game.

On the other hand, these "scrimmages," while great from an athletic perspective, are kind of goofy from a strategic perspective since everybody pretty much knows what everybody else can or will do. On the other hand, what better time to be trying out "trick plays?" And, if an offense is going to be able to prove itself by sheer quality of execution, why not then?

I find it ironic that you, of all people, 75, are critical of a little self-confidence and promotion.

Just sayin.
