Same strategy vs EWU??

Talon, do you understand how the MSU depth chart works? The best players are on the bench. It's in Coach Ron Ash's Playing .500 Ball. C'mon, man!

anyone care to say we have a great shot at beating the EAGS on their obnoxious red turf?

Yes.

Yes and we will :thumb: Anyone who thinks the last game wasn't a battle is crazy. Two ints, some bad special teams play, and one horrific no touchdown call. That's what cost us

And thus not forget the catch by the GRiz, ruled a catch, but was a fumble after further review, but no replay, but went on to a GRIZ TD. It all evened out

Not even looking at the last two games I knew we could beat them given another shot as the clock ticked down in the last matchup.

Here is what I figure.....they won by (only) 10 (really 3) We haven't gotten any worse. It's going to be a game. We are picking up steam, they laid around and ate chicken wings and got out of the groove. EWUs season ends Saturday.
Wow, you really want to go there? Lost only by 3 in a perfect day, go with that one if it helps, Eastern could have also won by 21. And no, they have been laying around lifting weights, conditioning and watching more griz film, nice try chief!

Can we use this logic?

So if EWU had to use some last-minute heroics by VA to beat the scats....and we drubbed the scats and revealed them as being pathetic...

But the Griz played against a D-2 QB at best with 7 turnovers and still only put up 34 points, but keep that positive thinking, LOL!!
we didn't use most starters after the 2nd quarter, duh.....
Montana: Completed 13-of-20 passes for 153 yards and 3 TDs in just two quarters before getting the second half off.

Of course I do, I went there. Ash is great for the BSC regular season, but you and I know the rest of the story. not win the big playoff game.

OK, so let's get back on topic before I go to bed. The Griz strategy of going no huddle and fast paced offense is not a concern of EWU, We've played many teams like that this year and years past. It's only a positive for EWU when teams don't want to grind it out for our defense. I'm sure the Griz hurry up offense will be situational, as is EWU's, nothing they haven't seen before and could cause some problems at first, but will also take its toll (fatigue) on the Griz O line also. Eastern has been doing this since day one(this year) and our players are conditioned to it. In the end, it will just give EWU offense more opportunities which in the end could hurt the Griz, risk/reward, but I guess well see! Good Luck all, great BSC playoff game.

Similar strategy on D: I like Gamboa as a spy on obvious passing downs.

Different strategy on O: zone read the shit out of em.

This. IIRC, Sam Houston did this to the tune of 35 first half points in the 2012 semis.
Damn, and you are EXACTLY right on the first half of that game. Then Eastern had the Vernon Adams coming out party and he lit SHSU for 42-10 in the 2nd half, good luck with that one also.

I.E. It was Padron in the 1st half (SMU transfer), and VA (EWU product) in the 2nd half! That didn't work to well for SHSU.

Um will change their strategy as the coaches know (and even some fans) that EWU played like shit the last game. Lucky catches, questionable calls, way to many offensive yards given up, uncharacteristic miscues in red zone, special team boners and poor tackling all resulted in a performance less than it is capable of...even Delaney knows that EWU will play much better than the last time around.

Griz have already proven that they're a much better team than what they showed in the last game. As to EWU, pure speculation.

And as far as "way to many offensive yards given up", that's just what Ewoo does (441 ypg), and it's not going to change now that JJ and the offense have been unleashed.

I believe this is a game of equally matched teams, Eastern has a slight edge on offense on the majority of games, but ours can be just as good, especially vs their Defense, we have the better defense up front for sure, and secondaries could be a push. If there are not at least 2-3 pass interference calls again number 17 from Eastern the refs are not watching close enough, last game he interfered with our receivers every time the ball was thrown at him. We cannot allow any big special teams plays this game, and we need some of our own. Come out and hit Eastern in the mouth and change the tone, lets play from the front and not from behind!!

Time to talk is long gone. Time to line up and play ball! Talk is cheap, it takes money to buy whisky.

You beat a BAD SUU team, then beat the Cats at home without their 2 best players, and then beat a Non-Scholarship school. You won the games, but we will truly find out if the Griz improved on Saturday when you play a good team.

They actually have made great strides over these past few weeks. Your butt cheeks have to be puckering just a bit.

You really would rather be playing almost anyone else right now. Oh, you won't admit it, but you have to be nervous. All the pressure is on you.
