Cal Poly is a very good football team which, as compared to the last few years now has a qb that can both run and pass effectively. They are going to be in the mix come playoff time, and based on what they showed yesterday could very possibly win or tie for the BSC title.

Mobile? Maybe early, but not late. Did you not see him lumbering after a receiver who went flying right by him. Added a lot of muscle in offseason, that can slow you and requires a lot of oxygen so get gassed pretty easy...ask any wrestler how a muscle bound guy tends to do in late minutes of a match....out of gas. All the running a safety has to do covering passes and increased run support with option team surely took its toll.

Lumbering wasn't the problem. He got completely beat. He didn't anticipate that the receiver was going to go long. Not even an NFL safety could have recovered from the mistake that was made. This happens sometimes. Sanders is usually good in coverage. Your comment shows me that you have never played the game, at least in the secondary. Jeez, look at the play again. Tv showed the replay. He's a very good player, in fact big time, but he totally blew that coverage.

Well said again PR. Yamen played poorly. But he's a beast and the coaches and players and opposing coaches and players know it, and he'll rebound. Kinda funny how everybody is ripping Yamen for being in there, and I even saw Semore get called out earlier in this thread for "rushing him back." I can tell you that was absolutely NOT Semore's call. But I wonder if Griz fans will criticize the coach who made the call to start Yamen. Or if they'll change their tune about it knowing which coach made the call to put him in the starting lineup.
Sanders left with injury and his first play back CP torched him. Good play calling for CP they exploited a injured player. Strong got nicked up early in game wasn't the same after that.
Safeties did not have their best day, neither did the CBs. LBs got lost on edges following the ball instead of pitch man, there was a definite exposure of young aggressive players. DL played superb, would have been nice to see Dano get lit up on every running play even after pitch.
Thought Dano was going to be out permanently after some of the first half punishment, to his credit he was able to stay somewhat clean and finish the game.
Plenty of blame to go around on D play. Seymore had players in position in a lot of the edge runs, but players were drawn to the ball carrier like a bugs to a light then pitch and they were one step behind the pitch player.
Youth or limited experience by LBs created extra pressure on DBs. Safeties will be fine with passing offenses.

There was room for improvement in the front 7...overall I think they did their job though. Just can't get over those 3 passing touchdowns....un-freaking believable. We keep the lid on the back end and we force them to kick some field goals. We do that and we win the game.grizcountry420 said:

All we needed was to hold them to a fukking field goal. But no.....all touchdowns, all day. Pair that with our INCREDIBLY poorly timed turnovers, and it's a wonder we only lost by one. This is getting a little away from safeties.....but that's is right there.grizcountry420 said:

Wasn't YS playing man coverage on that last TD of CP? Why not put a back up corner in as Sanders just left with cramps? That is a head scratcher!
