SDSU showed me nothing to make me believe they’ll beat the cats next week. If they play that sloppy next week, they’re gonna get ran off the field. Thought their D looked good but it was a lot of hit and miss from Chase Mason in his first start. IDK what they were doing offensively in the second half but three points is laughable.
And Sac State is exactly what I was hoping they would be lol.

What did the Cats show you today besides they do not know how to tackle especially the secondary is atrocious?

And I was impressed with their transfer QB Lamson, and other than Taco

The real measuring stick for the bubs is next week.
I actually thought the neighbors qb looked good against Oregon, all things considered.
Both Sac and SDSU played really sloppy. I would think it might be easier for SDSU to tighten up their game vs an FBS opponent. That said, I think the neighbors win next weekend
Oregon had a pretty noticeable size and speed advantage at nearly every position, so pretty sure it's at least the latter, but those two things also aren't mutually exclusive, either.

The talent gap between MSU and Oregon is self evident but it is hard to tell if that is because MSU is bad or Oregon is good or both. We will find out as the season goes on. MSU will have a great test to see how they are against a great FCS team instead of a great FBS team next week and Oregon has a gauntlet of a schedule upcoming in the Big 10.

The MSU defensive line and secondary are suspect. Don’t care what level they played against, they looked like a high school team yesterday. Oregon’s receiving corps was good, but wow. Serval times their backs or receives hurdled over DB’s. Their tackling form was poor. Their speed was poor. MSU could get pushed around in the trenches against better FCS teams. Going to be interesting to watch. Looks like they also had a potential injury to a defensive player yesterday. I hate seeing that and hope the lad is ok.
Sac St QB looked, jittery....would be the nice way of putting it.
Admittedly, I just watched highlights, but I thought the defenses for both teams were impressive.
NDSU probably widening the gap in the MV this year though.
Had the game on, watched a good portion of the 1st half and then kind of intermittently the 2nd.
Sac's front 7 isn't bad, their D-line was causing SDSU some issues. They did over pursue a lot, SDSU had some early plays where Sac couldn't hold the edge and it lead to big gains.
On the other side of the ball, Sac's O-line and QB play wasn't good at all, hard to say if that's just the way it is or if SDSU made them look even worse. Their QB was 11-27 passing and had some open targets that he couldn't even get the ball close to at times. He seemed visibly frustrated a lot, early too.
This game probably could have / should have been far more lopsided. SDSU loses a fumble on the Sac 5, then fumbles a punt, where Sac goes 5 whole yards and makes a field goal, and they missed two 2nd half field goal attempts from the Sac 19 and Sac 30. It very well could've been a 31-3 to 41-0 type of score as well.
Saw lots of "me" play from Sac out there, especially defensively. Guys leaving lanes/assignments to chase and then showing frustrations towards teammates. Bad WR drops (including one that would've been a TD). They have some talent and some speed but don't seem to be playing team ball, if they can figure it out soon they still could be pretty dangerous, I'm not ruling them out at all.
Of course the other funny side note is their AD, the guy everyone loves to hate, pre-game is teasing SDSU's facilities and fans on attendance (which admittedly is notoriously bad) and then post game is signing their praises saying SDSU should move up with Sac.

I watched the entire game and I thought the offensive line for Sac state was ineffective at best and laughable at worst. Quarterback play was not impressive at all.
On an earlier thread I suggested that the Go Go offense might be difficult to prepare for but apparently it's easier than I had anticipated.
It was difficult to evaluate the defense as a whole but they definitely have some dudes in the rotation who can make big plays, especially up front.

Oregon is a top-ten Division 1 football team.
MSU is a FCS playoff team and will be hard to beat come playoff time.
They are both talented, but not the same.
Self evident and requires zero additional typing.
