Sac v bubs

I’ve always found this argument interesting, because I don’t really care how an offense gets yards, as long as it does. Obviously have to keep the defenses honest, and portray a passing or rushing threat, but if running 80% of the time or passing 80% of the time is working, why be balanced for the sake of being balanced?

So I’ll ask you this. MSU against Sac passed for 120 yards and ran for 320. As you mention, UM against Idaho had 178 passing and 156 rushing. Clearly UM, yard wise, more balanced. Which result would you rather have? Personally, I’d take more yards, and more run yardage. If you can control the clock, and be efficient, generally you win more than you lose.

I agree PT. What makes the Cat offense impressive is that every team they play knows they are not balanced and that they are going to run the ball. The opposition prepares all week to stop the Cat run game and they still cannot. The Cats using multiple RBs and two good running QBs. And, it is not just the good Cat OL but their WRs and TEs are all good blockers. Come the second half the opposition starts wearing down and meanwhile the Cats are eating up the clock. I think the Cat team will just get even better as now they have injured WRs back. The passing game is going to get stronger. The proof is in the results. Over 700yds more than the second ranked BSC offense and 1100 yds better than the Griz offense with one less carry than them. Yes the Griz are more balanced and Gilman is a going to be a great RB, but their offense in total will not reach the level of the Cat offense.

now do the defenses. :| :|

Cats lead the Big Sky in scoring defense, 18.7 points per game. I'll take that. griz are at 19.3.

Depends on how you define balanced. I believe that balanced means you can run and pass with equal proficiency. This is how coaches view balance. The way the word is used, and what most people interpret, is that balance means you're getting 50% of your yards passing and 50% from running.

If a defense sells out to stop the run, and they actually do, but you keep completing passes does that actually mean you're not a balanced offense? I don't think so. You're just doing what's easy because it's working and the defense is making itself one dimensional.

Good point. Food for thought for those criticizing the Cats passing attack in 2023. In BSC games only, Chambers/Mellot stats are 74/122 for 1115 yards with 9 td's and 2 interceptions. McDowell is 51/84 for 681 yards with 5 td's and zero interceptions. Completion percentage is identical. Cats are throwing the ball much, much more this season & I'd argue it's for balance. When they're at there best the play action passes to the tight ends is killer. They don't throw there all the time & take the best option the defense is giving them. They can run the ball down most teams throats or go outside, but we all know they'll have to sling it some to beat SDSU.

Like I said, I don't get it.

Well, my apologies, but I can help you no further.

I can. Colter's the most knowledgeable human out there regarding BSC football, bar none. He's also unbiased. I believe he's a lifetime Griz fan. I also believe he likes him some Cat football. But what I appreciate from him is that he's not biased. He tells it like it is. When you tell the Egriz faithful that they're exactly where Cat fans were 25 years ago & that they've adopted a 'losers mentality' it's because it's true. It doesn't mean it will stay this way forever, and it doesn't even consider the Cats or their fans, just an honest critique of the Egriz faithful. They can't handle the truth.

He's making his case exactly the way lawyers do. Lying by omission. Resorting to strawmen. Leaving out salient facts that would influence the judgment of a reasonable person.

And you are ASSuming a boatload of "facts" that he never stipulated. He said "this season". YOU are the one who's twisting his statement to fit YOUR narrative. Because HIS statement was correct, YOU felt the need to create an alternate narrative that fit YOUR criteria...

This is correct. Gillman has more yards rushing than any Bob RB this season. That is a fact.
One can say that a Bob RB has more yards in the third quarter of conference games on the road in October games played at night, or whatever, but it doesn't disprove the original statement. Simple logic and the lack of an inferiority complex would go a long way for a lot of these Bobfans.

A poster could say a Griz player is good at [insert skill], and he/she would be met with 10 Bobtrolls tunneling in from parts unknown talking about they have 10 guys better. WE. WEREN'T. TALKING. ABOUT. THAT. So, STFU, hillbillies. Have some respect for yourselves.

Perhaps it's not a felony because msu hid evidence, (although it certainly outta be) but he's a bub coach and we're WAAC so who cares if he was completely poop faced, climbed behind the wheel, caused a collision, called a subordinate to hide evidence, drove another vehicle while poop faced, got pulled over, refused field tests, and puked all over medical professionals. He's a top notch bub who could help us win a game!!!!! WAAC!!!!

You really wanna continue this discussion? Cause DAMN, dude. You're doin the bubs no favors if you do.

I’m not concerned with your opinions of “the bubs” or anything else. Your respect for truth, desire for accuracy, and ability to engage in nuanced thought have not proven satisfactory. I am concerned with your referring to someone as a “felon”, as if it’s a fact.

Perhaps you can redeem yourself: Under Montana law, what kind of evidence would MSU have hidden for the imagined felony offense to be charged as a misdemeanor? And it seems you’re saying the coach accused of the accident reporting violation vomited on medical folks. If that is what you’re saying, do you have a source for that information?

I don't need to "redeem" myself to the likes of you. But for the sake of argument: injuries, substantial property damage, evidence of more serious crimes. I could list dozens.

Yes. Its in the police report. Now here's a site you may find more to your liking: www.bobcatnation.com. They don't care about coaches with multiple DUIs, and those who get drunk, cause an accident, flee the scene, hide and destroy evidence and lie to officers over there. We have morals here, and my apologies if that offends you.

So the middle LB, both safeties, a DL, and a corner? No wonder you guys sound so nervous.

What would “two hundo rushing“ yards of Bobbyball look like?

Not sure anyone remembers that far back. You'd probably have to break out the VHS to watch Lex Hillyard film to see 200 rushing yards of bobby ball.
Boom goes the 🧨 Yes exactly thanks. I tee’d it up for you and you did not disappoint.

“Two hundo” of Bobbyball would be almost crushing for any team just like that memorable Lex game.

So memorable I once wrote an old-timey ballad about it. Bonus points for anyone who can recognize the underlying artist:

I love
Kickin’ kitten ass
Tailgates with grass
Hilliard covered in mud
And blood

And I love you too

I love
Thirty-six to ten
Pushing Down grown men
Dancing down Kagy Steet
And meat

And I love you too

I love
Players on potty’s
Crashing after-parties
Crossing the trail of tears
And cheers

And I love you too

By saying after the very first public info, that my "instincts" said it wouldn't go far? That's all PR said. Again, BD's attorney told me BD would not have had such a big problem if he hadn't gone to the police, without consulting or taking an attorney, and answered every question. I knew Beau and liked him. My daughter knew him and liked him in high school. One of the morals of the story is, never trust authorities who want to talk to you without an attorney, and never talk to authorities without consulting a good attorney. That is, f you are even close to being the line of fire. There is a reason for the right to remain silent, i.e. the 5th. You can never talk yourself out of a potential criminal issue on your own; you will always lose that battle.

By the way, are you defending all the BLM stuff in Portland?

Don’t give up your day job. Reminds me of a song too. You might remember Jethro Tull’s Living in the Past?

Let us close our eyes
Outside their lives go on much faster
Oh, we won't give in
We'll keep living in the past
Oh, we won't give in
Let's go living in the past
Oh no, no we won't give in
Let's go living in the past

Maybe, just maybe, the moral of the story should be “don’t rape people” rather than “don’t talk to the cops without a lawyer if you raped somebody”.

Also, your very first post on the matter was that you know Beau, and you have doubts the rape happened or would stick. “My instincts say it didn’t happen.”, which is a bit different than “my instincts say this won’t go far.”

I said one moral of story, not “the”. And I don’t cut and run on people I like. How’s your support of BLM and defund the police looking? Do you support Hamas too?

I would cut and run on a rapist? Who would want a friend that rapes people?

I have quite literally no idea what you’re talking about regarding Portland and BLM. I don’t believe I’ve ever referenced them here, nor do I see the relevance to the discussion.

Not a chance with that O-line against our D-line, and you know it.

I didn't have any facts when I made my comment. Had just read an article. And, he would not have been convicted if he hadn't talked to the cops without a lawyer, is what I heard. Again, I don't cut and fun on friends. I might not defend them, but I don't cut and run on them. And, I don't blow with the wind. I have seen Beau since this came out, and I have been friendly with him. If he ever asked for anything, I would try to help him.

Lots of people have had criminal problems.

I would never be friends with or respect someone like you. You have little or no conviction, little or no spine, and little or no strength.

I’m pretty comfortable with my stance of not being friends with rapists. Personally I would call being friends with people regardless of their serious shortcomings, especially when it comes to violent assault, lacking conviction, but we can differ there.

I’ll ask you again, why did you ask me about Portland and BLM? I’m still not sure the relevance, or what ties you think I have to it.
