Ryan McKinley

I thought this whole thing was humorous, so I am just here to poke a little funn at the Griz fans. But In all honesty, when kids start spouting off statements about APR's, someone's been in their ear. I would guess someone from Missoula in this case. Just an honest assessment from what the kid said.

Bottom line, he chose MT, and that's all that matters.

Ryan is a good "get" period. I am glad he is coming to Montana as a bunch of us will watch him tear up the place and he sounds like a good kid! Good going Mick and crew!

WHat I found interesting from the article was that he'd originally verballed to the Griz last WEEK, and then had some second thoughts and did some more soul searching before finally announcing....that's a bit scary.

Sure will be glad when THAT letter comes across the fax. :thumb: :thumb:

I did some research on Trumaine Johnson and he started 11 games as a TRUE freshman. And I know we had inconsistent play at CB this past year, although I know the coaches had them play off of receivers, but what are the odds that Ryan McKinley starts as a TRUE freshman or at least gets a considerable amount of PT?

Chances of considerable playing time? Good.

Starting 11 games? Doubtful.

With the way Dennard and Harris played at the end of last year I believe they are our starters. I think McKinley and Murray will be their backups.

Was it Tru's freshman or sophomore year that he hurt his knee and missed some time? I could have sworn it was his freshman year...

bisonation will soon be twittering to RM about UM's APR....really has it in his craw. Bison were so yesterday, get over it.

That's an NCAA violation if he does - turn his ass in to the NDSU compliance if you see it.

It's not an NCAA violation unless "bisonnation" is considered a booster by the NCAA. Having a "Ryan McKinley" thread on egriz is just as much of a violation, considering the connections of the site owners and donors to the U of M.

Good get for the Griz, though. The APR thing is weird, though, since he specifically mentions it. Somebody at UM must have given him that information...

I'm not certain that's an accurate statement. I believe the rule prohibits the discussion of any recruit on a site that is associated with an institution, or on the page of someone affiliated with the institution. You'll note Chris specifically states on this site that there is no connection whatsover to UM.

Bison fans taking this well, I see.

Also yeah, AZ, pretty sure Tru was out for most of the end of the 2008 season. He missed the entire playoffs, if I remember correctly.

So the real question now is, did UM self report an NCAA violation of lying (unintentional or otherwise) to this recruit? Maybe UM didn't need to since DHinWa probably already reported it since he seems to be on top of reporting recruiting violations.

you guys are still gonna cheer for NDSU over MSU though.. right???

I love the Griz. I respect App State. I hate everyone else.

you have to also respect back to back national champions. NDSU gets respect for being a very good, strong program. App.st got respect for those exact reasons as well. Same reason everyone did respect GSU.

At the end of the day MSU still has never earned respect of anyone in the FCS. being ranked highly and falling on you face early in the playoffs will not get it done. They are starting to build but until they prove themselves and make it to the chipper..they get no respect. they def. did not get it when they were underdogs playing at home vs a southern team in november.

That puts them in the same class as UNH.

Oh not at all, just pointing out the probable hypocrisy. That's all. In fact, considering MSU has won nearly every head to head recruiting battle with UM this year, I really have nothing to be jealous of.

And in three years, every one of those players will regret that decision. Mark my words. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Dont know or care too much about cat recruiting but of the 2 head to head i do know of...sure TROD we would have liked, but honestly you take brekke and i would say the majority of the people with griz connections take Tre favors every time.

I suspect Brekke will end up like Cody Kirk:

Pretty respectful at whatever position he plays.

Until he plays the Griz. 8-)

Any Griz fan figure out why the bop a dips (cats) are chirping on our board about our recruits?

Envy?
