If Bama lost 5 out of 6 to Auburn and finished 6th in the SEC no one would consider them dominate. Some how little bro gris nation think Boobie 2.0 has returned the gris to the promise land with their awesome run to sixth place in the Big Sky.
Doesn't; RTD have to start after Hauck retired, not before it. Hauck has played the Griz 4 times and is 1-1 in past two seasons. Again, UM got back in 2021.UM was not 6th in the conference that year.
I didn't compare the Griz to Alabama; I said Alabama was still dominant. Learn to read. You are illiterate.
I would rather have my team finish 6th in the conference than have my team allow 2 coordinators with dui's, and another coach with criminal charges, to continue to coach. The Cat program is truly pathetic. What's wrong with your coach?

I’m sure you meant ‘Scats in that first sentence…Bobby’s never played the Griz….

As a Cat fan I always saw Griz dominance as winning the Big Sky Conference, beating the Cats and going deep in the playoffs every year, That seemed to be the expectation of the Griz fans. And, those expectations were met during a good stretch of years. It appears that since Bobby returned, what is considered the expectation of dominance has been lowered. It is just an observation. Do you guys really feel that the level of play over the last few years meets your expectations of dominant. I think most of you on here expect better and should. I would be disappointed if you did not.Just throwing that out there. I agree with what has been mentioned on here, dominance for any team is much more difficult these days with the portal and nil.
The discussion hasn't been about what is dominant. It was about returning to dominance and perhaps not using the term as much. Those are different discussions. The Cats haven't been dominant in football ever in FCS, like the Griz clearly were for almost 25 years. The Griz were the winningest team in D-I football in the 2000s.
Feel free to tell us how the Cats are dominant in FCS. What happened to the Cats against the Griz in 2021? I'll tell you; the Cats got dominated. What about to the Cats against SDS last season? What kind of defense gives up 8 straight TD's to an FBS team, or whatever it was? Not even a bad defense gives up that many TD's.
The Cats had a very good running offense with 2 good running qb's. That's it. Not much more. We'll see if the Cats can build on that. The Cats barely beat bad EWU and NAU teams last season. Dummies like Poor and some other Cat trolls try to make the limited Cat success into something more than it has been.
In my view, the handling of the Cat dui's and other legal problems has undercut and diminished any success the Cats have built in their program. Truly pathetic. An embarrassment.
mthoopsfan said:poorgriz said:They already redefined RTD and what it was supposed to mean. Most people thought it meant the griz football program dominating the conference and making it deep in the playoffs and to the championship game regularly. That's what griz football used to be about.
Today apparently RTD means beating the rival once in 6 years, and making it all the way up to 6th place.......... in the conference. New times we're living in.
At least, the Griz WERE dominant. The Cats never have been. Last and only championship almost 40 years ago.

Everybody wants to be our rival and thinks they are when we aren't curb stomping them repeatedly.RainierGriz said:Oldschoolhornet said:Feel free to ask Bobby if he considers SAC a rivalry game after losing to them three times in a row.
You have beat us 3 times in a row… and you and nowhere near a rival of ours. Do you really consider us a rival? Beautiful haha

Hoops, I understand your points on the Cats. I am not disputing that. My post was just about looking at the Griz expectations from an outsider . I was always impressed with how fans had high expectations for their success. Like I said, the Griz lived up to them. My question is why does it seem expectations are lower now? I have read posts on here that they already have returned to dominance. I just don’t see that compared to earlier years when the Griz had that long streak. Calling them dominant now just doesn’t seem to compare with the dominance they had back then.
Oldschoolhornet said:Rivalry…definition…competition for the same objective or for superiority in the same field.
You guys are correct. Since the Griz haven’t been competitive with SAC in the Bobby 2.0 era this game can’t be considered a rivalry.
Even if the Griz can find a way to win this November they will be 1-3. RTD.
Idaho was a rival long before MSDUI. Still is, whether recognized by the BSC or not.EverettGriz said:Oldschoolhornet said:Feel free to ask Bobby if he considers SAC a rivalry game after losing to them three times in a row.
He doesn’t.
We have one rival. Always have. Always will. And that rival loses to us 70% of the time. He sure as poop ain’t counting a team who loses to us us 90% of the time a rival.
