Robbie Hauck - Major Liability in Coverage

Agree. If his name was Snake McNails from Butte, I’d wager there would be a different discussion surrounding him. Criticism, sure, but likely nothing like he gets. I’m sure he recognizes why he’s under a microscope and is ok with it.

I thought snakes in general were band from
WGS unless they are in a clear bag?

Robby is one of the best run stopping, downhill safeties I’ve watched play. He’s also the absolute worst pass coverage safety I’ve seen play. There’s literally no in between.

There is a reason Robbie is one of the most polarizing Griz in recent memory. While I respect his game, being an undisciplined and penalty-prone run-stuffing box safety with very subpar coverage skills has increasingly little value against today's pass happy offenses. Look no farther than Jamal Adams with the Seahawks.

Yep l notice that too…Robbie is never taken out of the game…it’s all about the stats. RH is a good overly aggressive tackler but fast WR he gets burned!

And yet look how much this amazing all pro safety has done for that mighty 27th ranked Seahawk defense. Don't be purposely daft, it's a different era. Box safeties are of increasingly little value against modern offenses.

You know in this system he practically never has any coverage responsibilities? His job is to fill. You never see him running with a receiver. Sometimes he gets a zone responsibility, but the deep shots that everyone gets pissed about are typically beyond where he is supposed to be. As for his pursuit angles, you got me there. He does need to be more disciplined in his play.
