the real question is how come grizsports didn't ask stitt for his version? or did they? i would think a coach accused of this would want his side of the story told. seems very unfair of griz sports to only get one version of the events. who wrote the story i linked? why no follow up? if clarks coach is just making all this it seems awful risky on his part. someone could tell on him and he'd be out of work. im not sure who to believe, but it's odd there's no word out of the stitt camp.
getgrizzy said:teens often say things to try to save face when something shitty happens to them. their girlfriend dumps them and they say "i dumped her". not even a stretch to think that's what happened, but i'm not saying it did. i want a reporter to ask stitt. is that an unreasonable request? asking a reporter to report?CDAGRIZ said:getgrizzy said:oh your version could be correct. seems just as plausible that he told his coach he decommitted to save face then the coach got the truth after the first story. he'd be pretty dumb to change his story after going on record unless something happened.UMGriz75 said:Accused of what? The facts speak for themselves, unless you want to believe that the second story told by the High School Coach was more plausible than the first story he told.
There are two completely contradictory stories there. The first one justified Clark's withdrawal of his commitment in order to pursue UCLA. It was clearly generated to provide "cover" for the withdrawal of the commitment to UM. Perhaps UCLA had a policy of not offering to already committed athletes.
The second story was the blow up when UCLA didn't offer, trying to change that first story, and trying to blame it on Stitt.
Why do you think the Coach completely changed his stories?
If I was the reporter, I'd be calling up the High School Coach and asking him the questions.
it's also odd that griz sports called the coach to ask about the decommit. then it turns out the coach says it wasn't a decommit. also gotta wonder why griz sports didn't ask stitt about not being able to recruit that school again.
Just a wild ass, crazy theory here based on the look and content of Griz Sports: Maybe Griz Sports isn't exactly objective. Maybe, just maybe, it's not even run by a Griz fan at all.
Also, do you really think its seems "just as plausible" that the kid lied to his coach by saying he de-committed? If he really had his offer pulled, I would think his H.S. coach would be the first person he would tell.

getgrizzy said:he doesn't need to mention kyon clark by name to address the issue. all he would have to say is he didn't pull any offers, but some players did decommit. the reporter can ask any question he wants and should ask regardless of the n.c.a.a. rules.PlayerRep said:I think coaches are limited to talking only about recruits who have signed letters of intent or who are enrolled in school. I doubt that the ncaa rules allow talking about recruits who aren't offered or who don't sign or enroll.

I think this is evident with the fact that recruiting has been focused on Texas kids. My take is the other coaches for the cats are the primary recruiters. Ash is the queen bee that his assistant coaches bring these players for the final interview. My take on this, is the Assistant coaches build a relationship with the kids and Ash says and does as little as possible by design, other wise these kids wouldn't wanna come to Bozo. Ash does not have the fire and personality a HS football player wants to play for in College. Ash is ultimately viewed as a geek/dork by the players once they get to Bozo.

Ash would be the most boring man in a room full of accountants and actuaries!

I can't see as to where Clark was offered or has stated he is going to play at any school. He just kind of vanished. No wonder things got a bit heated when he was disconnected from Montana for whatever reason. Doesn't look like anyone else wanted him. Possibly not even MSU?

Makes ya wonder if there was a serious off the field incident that schools learned about.

Either that, or perhaps academic questions. It appears the guy could play so it must be an off field question which held him back.
