Rob Ash said some things today

The Griz certainly had their share of "commits" change their minds this year and I didn't see any tweets from assistant coaches or soap box speeches from Stitt about "commitment".

"So, why now, all of a sudden, issue a bitter diatribe?"

I think he underestimated Stitt. My guess is over the next couple years they (Cat fans) will hate him as much as the other Bobby, and you know what? That's alright by me.

Reading between the lines here. Ash is really saying, "We really got our asses kicked by the GRIZ for in state recruiting this year."

Get used to it and step up your game Ash. Stitt is taking the state of Montana recruiting very seriously. It sounded to me, in state recruits will be the life blood of GRIZ football while he is here. I am not saying it to be a smart ass either. He sounded very sincere and committed to recruiting this state and building relationships with the high school programs and coaches.

Worse than that. The sounds you're hearing are those of a career circling the drain. Natives getting restless in Bozeman. Look @ what he's done to try to fix the defense. He's got to start contending for FCS titles soon.

Ron Ash may be a ramblin' wreck from Montana Tech, but he's a hell of an engineer of .500 programs.

Please don't associate coach ron ash with Montana Tech!!!

A school and coaches having loyalty to a player....hahaha that's priceless! Id expect nothing less from a man that's gets beating down in his rivalry game annually, his comments are a Daum shame!

his comments reek of a .500 ball coach! Poor baby, grow a sack and RECRUIT!!!!

isn't this the same coach that threw his QB under the bus after the Griz game during the post game presser?

Ash is officially fighting out of his weight class right now in the state of MT, Stitt has him dead to rights and he hasn't even been here a month. This is going to be fun.

Jayzuz! Did really say all that? Was he off his meds, drinking tiger blood, WTF? #winning.

Said the man who poached Gunner Brekke.

I have heard it said teams tend to take on the personality of their head coach so...................

Interesting.....we flew the Villanuava kid in for a visit this year while he was committed to UM. Did we ask him to decommit before flying to Bozeman?

I seem to recall Ash also throwing Denarius McGhee under the bus in 2013 too after their end of season meltdown.

I don't think he's butt hurt like some of you are suggesting. I think he has good intentions, and agree with what he's saying.

Apparently it has little to do with Daum and more to do about the Webb kid that flipped over the dead period, and yes, it wreaks of sour grapes.

I don't think he's saying all this in reference to any battle with Stitt, but if you want to take it as a victory far be it for me to stand in your way.

He makes some good points but all the schools have to play by the same rules. I'm not certain what he thought he accomplished by saying what he did when he did. There has to be a different avenue that's more constructive.
Sure, if he makes his comments on any other day than NLI day, then it comes off as constructive, but today it's just sour grapes.
This day comes once a year. His conferences on signing day are always upbeat and filled with optimism. At least this part of his address today was different. Kind of put a dark cloud over a happy day (especially for the kids) as far as I am concerned.

 What the hell is Ash thinking when, on signing day, you should be relieved and satisfied with the young men who will play for you. He decides to venture into the "ones who screwed him." Wow I'm feeling :puke:

Ash freaks like this Compare it to how Florida must be fealing after the 1# recruit in the nation flipped to Auburn....hahaha Ash the substance found after fuel to flames....how fitting

I seem to remember a few days/weeks ago when we had several high profile players (Alex Neale etc.) switching there verbal from us to other schools, everyone on here was bitching about what the point of a verbal was and that they shouldn't verbally commit if they didn't mean it. Now Ash says basically the same thing and that the system needs to change, and he's the bitter one? Regardless of the reason for his message, I personally agree with what he's saying (but also don't think it's that big of a deal either way...)
