I'm perfectly happy that we have Ash

You must be about the only one if the tweets I'm seeing from my cat fan friends are any indication. They want him gone before season's end.

lol.. let me guess, most tweets came out during the first quarter of the EWU game?

I heard the banhammer hit...surprised you survived.

Congrats.

Most came after they read the article in which he stated that he knew his defense had no chance to stop ewoo. I think they wondered why he's in the job if he can't prepare a defense to stop a team a few times during a game.

They probably also wondered why a man who looks first to deflect blame onto players, sometimes specifically naming them to the press, still has a job.

Or maybe they were wondering why a man who whines like a lil' bitch about commitment when things don't go his way after taking advantage of the same process with Brekke, and pussing out of a commitment with NDSU, still has a job.

Or maybe they were wondering why a man who continually lets an entire fan base down year after year after year still has a job.

Haha you still lost so does it matter? Or are you guys spinning this as a "quality loss"?

When I look at what ewo did against Oregon's defense and as coach of the Cats you have a young defense with a bunch of transfers and drop downs an going into this game with a new coordinator and new schemes and a 16 day layoff after one easy game , I would feel that the msu defense did not have much of a chance and prepare for a maximum offensive effort which they did produce. It is called being realistic!

I've been asking myself, "Why does ole Ron even field a defense?" Seriously? If they're "going to score anyways", why even bother? Then it dawned on me: if there is no defense, then he can only blame the offense. He doesn't want to limit himself like that.

Just wait, in another 8 years, when he finally has total and complete commitment, look out!

I think you are overlooking that a couple of years ago and prior they had a good defense with two Buchanan award winners in a row. Will be interesting to see how this defense progresses throughout this season with all the changes.

Good points on all fronts. I think Ron's days are largely spent trying to identify excuses and scapegoats. Maybe he even tries to create them. Given the personnel, there is absolutely no excuse to have such a shitty defense. I think Ron knows he can always rely on the lack of defense as an excuse, and prepares accordingly. The only other explanation is that he is a really, really bad football coach. It might be both, but there are no other possibilities.

Oh no doubt. All week he works on two game plans if you know what I mean. I heard he installs a play on offense and defense each week to cover all his bases. Last week he called one "scapegoat left" and another "straw man blitz."

He definitely succeeded at the latter against EWU. As I've said before, dude has it figured out. Take a distressed program, schedule cupcake OOC games, rip off 6-7 wins per year, and nobody will question the fact that you've never really won a big game or taken the team deep into the playoffs. Make sure that you build in some scapegoats to deflect for the inevitable big game losses, and you're set.

It's like if you went into sub-Saharan Africa with a shit ton of free drinking water. Sure, the water might be kind of brownish with dead flies in it (which you put there in case anyone gets sick so you can blame it on the flies), but you'd be king for a day. The same thing is happening if Bozeman with this joker as a HC.

Meanwhile in grizland...Stitt happens...a lot! :)

What is happening in Bobcatville? Are they calling for Ash's head? I honestly wouldn't know since I don't visit Bobcatville.gov.

Actually a quiet concern regarding Cal Poly...but it is really pretty tame this week. Post EWU letdown is my concern!

Noted. And that is what I would expect from Bobcatville.gov. Any concern about your HC blaming everybody but himself for losses over the last, what, eight years?
