This is so fudge hilarious on sooooo many levels.
I can’t stop chuckling.
50 years from now, I’m going to say, “Do you remember when the bubcatz sent out that dweeb from North Dakota to read five sentences from a pre-written statement about pending criminal charges against both of his out-of-state coordinators and he couldn’t do it without looking down, stuttering and stammering?!?!”
Forget what he said. Dude can’t even read. And he had months to practice.
  Begs the question, was he drunk or just from ND?

You don't know what you are talking about. Feel free to name any situation where a Gov. got involved with an assistant coach charged with a DUI. Don't just give us your garbage. Name names. Links;
Too use your own words, which I hate to because they are demeaning, you are an idiot. I'm not specifically talking about assitant coaches being charged with DUI. I'm talking about situations that could trigger political repercussions. Any situation and not football specific. And if you don't think that Governors don't step in and take action with individuals that could cause them political harm then you are living in an alternative reality.
If your Governor thought this to be a problem to his political future then it never would have got where it is right now. If you think it does impact his political future, because you two are buds, then please give him a call and inform egriz the results. Just go to the root of the problem and not MSU coaches or administration because if you don't think they are being advised by the Governor and the BOR then you are well, you know an .................

The more I read it, and though the part that was previously highlighted might be the most pertinent. This stanza really blew my mind.
“We’ve taken this matter seriously. And I say that on many ends. One is just the improved, enhanced trainings that we will do and have continued to do within our program.”
Just to break that down, we’re talking out of our ass (one of those ends) about how seriously we never took this and though it was 10 months ago we never really told athletes and coaches drinking and driving was bad so we haven’t been fully sure who to go to or where to start on this groundbreaking program because we couldn’t find an athletic department member who didn’t have a DUI. Our field house in nicknamed the BAC for Gods sake. So in the future, we will have to conclude our parties with a limbo line to find out who is the most sober to drive the bus home. Under no circumstances will that be “Down at the Barza” Mack Garza or Taylor Housepartyright no matter how low they go, or how many switcharoos they scheme up on the chalkboard.
We may have gotten stuck with GF and AssKrakauer, but a book is so 15 years ago, maybe the bubz can have Judd Apatow direct a movie this time. Seth Rogan could definitely pull off Sixx (too dopey to take seriously, too awful to be funny), Kevin Hart as Mack Garza, maybe Zach Galifinakis as Housewright pulling the switcheroo while hammered and Jason London as Sam Mixx.

I like this proposal, and I think I could pull some strings to greenlight it . . . with a few alterations. I think the DC should be played by Carl Weathers. We get Trevor Snarr's SAG card back and cast him as Sixx. I like Zach G as the OC, but we'll maybe workshop the role of the RB coach.

Unfortunately, number 4 is a felony so the sequel would have to be something like Bobcats in the Big House (Deer Lodge, not Ann Arbor)
And as far as Sixx we could just split the difference and go with Jake Busey.

After all, grown ass men who are faces of a public institution and mentors to impressionable student athletes can’t be expected to be responsible enough to turn down a drink from a booster or even call a cab, Uber, or wife if they’ve had too much to drink. FFS, you could even call an assistant coach….before a car crash thus mitigating any need to coerce a subordinate to collude with you to obstruct/tamper with evidence.

I see that ONE fan mentioned that. He said because coaches may be contractually obligated to attend these events it may be a good idea for the school to have transportation available. This would eliminate any liability for the school. If you read the responses to his comments, they all said to the effect, there is no excuse for a coach to drink and drive. My recall is comments from fans reflect they are dissatisfied the way this whole thing has been handled.

garizzalies said:I also believe this booster party was the reason msdui changed their “policy” and would not comment like they did when the first drunk got popped.
And why MSdUi “continues to support” these crooks.
There was never going to be a lawsuit simply for firing a coach for drunk driving as it is clearly cause for termination, unless the school facilitated the drunkenness with keys, an invitation, or some obligation for schmoozing.
That’s what’s really going on here and why these bums are still around. The school sponsored it and then bungled it.
The first bum got lucky that the second bum fucked up, and the second bum got lucky that he could blame his work obligations or he’d be gone too. Now MSdUi is stuck with both of them. Married.

During my investigative foray into the belly of the beast I ran into a dead end. Literally. Patterson road dead ends into a creek.
The only explanation I’ve heard was that Houseparty was leaving a houseparty at some booster’s place. It’s all a bunch of McMansions out there. No other explanation why he’d be out there. What else is out there?
Which makes thistimes worse.
Bubs think this is some kind of excuse for the coach but it only implicates the MSdUi admin.
If he’s driving a work vehicle to/from work functions, to knowingly get hammered, how does that make it better?
