Those things have nothing to do with depth. If you're suggesting that the starters last year were good enough to overcome the loss of your players from 2021, that's definitely true. If you're suggesting those stats mean that the players behind your starters last year were better than those on other teams, you can't prove that. That is what Elrod meant when he said depth. We have a really good OL that's a little top heavy, but the 6th and 7th guys on the line proved last year that they could come in and perform.
I know you can't ever admit that the Griz are good at anything, but it's coming off exactly as Elrod suggested several posts ago with your "nu-uh the Griz suck" schtick.
Also, sacks per attempt is easy to find.
We gave up 19 sacks last year on 391 attempts. You gave up 18 sacks on 309 attempts.
Interesting, nice find, saw how you dug that up. Okay well you can have that one I suppose. If that’s the one leg you want to stand on.
While I can’t definitively prove it, Based on production from our OL backups to continue operating the best offense in the FCS, I can suggest that with some merit.
Me disputing Elrod saying the gris have a deep OL and RB or WR room on a whim doesn’t make me a “nu-uh the gris suck” poster.
I think the gris had a stellar defense in 2021. I think the gris special teams has always been stellar. That was a focal point for choate at MSU. Look how bad it hurt us in 2021.
However I won’t sit here and pretend like the gris magically have depth on offense. That’s just not true in the slightest. Now if you want to suggest “top heavy” we can debate that as you return 2 ALL-BSC to our 3. With UM having the only 1st team player, keep in mind the MSU line lost a lot of players to injury. (Depth).
