I think as a 1 bid conference, you absolutely HAVE to reward the best regular season team with the tourney to help the cause of the best team making it in. Now, we know it's not always the case, but still helpful. The ACC it isn't BSC. I think their thought is to create a "fan experience" not just games to see. Only place to do that is Vegas or Phoenix. It's warm, you can fly there easily from just about anywhere, and lots of things to entertain you as a fan during down time. If not one of those, it's gotta be the regular season champ.
I was thinking about going to Reno this year, but will absolutely be in Boise next year since I live nearby. Still, hope this is the last round of this crap and goes back to champ hosting.
exactly. neutral sites are a great idea, and a great time for a lot of conferences. particularly those power conferences already getting 5, 6, 7, or 8 teams in the dance. this is not the big sky obviously. or I guess obvious to some...
reno is an awful idea for so many reasons. but the biggest reason of all in my opinion is the best team all year long in a low to mid-major conference should get to host. it just makes sense.
though, when you host, there's always the chance that you'll blow a 20 point lead to your in-state rival and have to watch them play in the championship on your home court and muster all the strength you have not to puke in your mouth a little. there's that...
Any chance you could refresh those of us on the play by play...and full game details...of said game?
The backboard is still shaking.....part of the reason for poor shooting at "The Brick"
