Regular season record with this depth chart?

9-2 with a loss to the cats and either Sac/Idaho. However I wouldn’t be surprised to see 8-3 since we always seem to find a way to shoot ourselves in the foot.

We then get to continue the brilliant trend of ONE playoff win per year and lose in the quarterfinals.

This schedule is an embarrassment, and that might not be a syrong enough word. Anything less than 10-1 or 9-2 and Hauck should be fired - even if your entire first string O and D got injured in fall camp. Seriously!!

Good luck getting people outside Missoula to travel to town for these home games

With your lineup, i am assuming the 3-3-5 is the base defense. (disclaimer: I like the 3-3, it's fun to watch & absolutely dominate, except when it isn't.)

Butler - W - near shut out
Utah Tech - W - near shut out, QB play is questionable, but the run game flashes
Ferris - W - this might be a tough game, but the griz have better depth
NAU - W - they lost their QB - Griz offense sputters, but the D saves them
Idaho St - W - goose egg
UC Davis - W - probably close game, Griz nation is thinking a natty is coming @ 6-0
Idaho - L - their young QB makes the spuds the new EWU
No. Colorado - W - 4th chance in the season to get a goose egg
Sac St - W - the loss of Scatabo makes a difference, close game, Grossman is player of the week
Portland St - W - close until the forth quarter when the Griz run game start to become the Bobby ball of old
Kittens - L - Will need a schematic/personal change to complete

1st round Bye, win vs Weber and loss in the Semis to a Dakota team

Yeah... thats it... the Cats play cupcakes and the Griz play deaf and blind and I'm pissed, sure. Scheduling is tough in the NW and for FCS, so everyone has to have a cupcake, but this schedule is so bad.

Compare MSU's
@ SDSU, @ Weber, @ Idaho, @ Sac, @ UM
Honestly, of those 5 games, the Griz is the easiest opponent

Let's bet $250, straight up, on the Griz-Cat game. I take the Griz.

Hilarious that you are complaining about next season’s Griz schedule after the schedule you had this year. Typical Bobcat

Interesting.

What did the schedules look like last season?

Right... the bobcat schedule has been cupcake af for at least the last 3 years.. truly an embarrassment most years. Griz had the toughest schedule in the FCS this last year. Me and the ol lady talked about how the Bobcats will be talking trash on our next schedule way back in October when they had the easiest schedule ever the last couple years.

Y'all better check your facts, MSU had 7th toughest SoS and UM was 17.

Undefeated in regular season play. In the first 5 games i doubt we get more than 20 points scored on us.

I will take that bet for $1,000,000. Even higher if you’re willing.

Let’s just put this in perspective for a minute. The cats never faced Sac States 2 QB system. In fact, they haven’t play at Sac State since 2016!

Are you seriously going to try and argue that @NAU, UC Davis, and @UNC were harder opponents than Idaho, @Sac State, and Portland State?

Griz will be 10-2 next year. Much better Team and a very favorable schedule. Idaho was an anomaly. Griz won’t lose to them in 2023. Sac = no way in hell they lose at home to a gutted program. Might even go 11-1 and I don’t think the Cats win in Missoula. On another note, I hope Bobby watched the Natty and heard the comments about the SDSU coach building the team to beat NDSU at their own game. I am hopeful the Griz get more big guys on both sides of the line. Abandon the damn 3-3-5 base or at least mix it in with another defensive scheme. Tough to do at the college level, so praying they abandon the 3-3-5. MSU looked anemic against a team that could stop their run game. Time to switch it up and I would think the message has to be getting through to BH and the staff.

This post seems like a major contradiction. What makes you think the coaches are going to change anything? They all get paid decently, and fishing in Western Montana is excellent. 6 and 5 seems the best bet. That will keep people happy without Bobby actually making any coaching changes.

AND, I am not going to bad mouth the players. College football is the most coach dependent sport in the world. I look at who the Griz are bringing in and I'm personally stoked. But no changes will be made in the off season, these jobs are too cushy.

When the biggest thing impacting the season was the injury to the qb, which caused the loss of 2 big games, which caused the loss of a seed, which caused the Griz to have to go on the road sooner and to have to play the second best team, why would there be a need to make big coaching changes? I assume you don’t think a different caused Johnson not to get hit in the head and concussed after he had thrown a pass.

Many years ago I was on a high school staff in Georgia and we were at a conference and this type of bullshit argument about strength of schedule records of the previous season was going back and forth between a few coaches. What shut it all down was when Bill Napier asked one of them making this type of analogy "What would Rome's record have been if they didn't have have a win against you?" Just pretend Idaho, Sac, Weber, and MSU had lost. Idaho 6-5 and out of the playoffs. Sac 10-1 and fourth seed? Weber 7-4 and bubble team but a certain committee member would not get them a home game. MSU 9-2 and not seeded in the top 4 because of that pac game.

UM had a poor OOC schedule last year and next year is going to look even worse. You have no idea, any of you, what team is going to be a one season phenom next year. Silly that supposed grown, mature men and women are fussing about last year's strength of schedule knowing full well both Montana flagship institutions are playing at a podunk level of competition. Both schools would have losing records in the MVFC if they had to play all four Dakota teams every year.
