Regular season record with this depth chart?

Yeah... thats it... the Cats play cupcakes and the Griz play deaf and blind and I'm pissed, sure. Scheduling is tough in the NW and for FCS, so everyone has to have a cupcake, but this schedule is so bad.

Compare MSU's
@ SDSU, @ Weber, @ Idaho, @ Sac, @ UM
Honestly, of those 5 games, the Griz is the easiest opponent

So you're pissed off that the Griz got a cat's schedule?
How easy were the Griz the last time MSU was there?

I've never been a move up fan but with Bobbys offense we don't beat any good teams in the playoffs anymore and this schedule is boring. It seems the downside of moving up is starting to look like less than the upside.

I wonder if the 95 team could beat any of the teams scheduled, after all defenses have the air Read offense figured out.

Let's bet $250, straight up, on the Griz-Cat game. I take the Griz.

I'm starting to think you have a gambling problem. Seriously, seek some help.

I have had one bet on egriz in the last couple decades. With AZ involving charity. I don’t gamble at all. Even when I am in Las Vegas. I have never bet on a game through the legal betting that exists today. Wanna bet me?

Hey, you never gave me a charity to donate to. :| :|

Ha. My gambling luck is piss-poor...which is why I placed a wager on the cats to beat SDSU as I did not want them going to the championship game. It obviously worked.

There are obviously great local charities, but if either of you are looking outside the box at all, this one is a bit personal for me. Not trying to make this a political thing by any means.

This post seems like a major contradiction. What makes you think the coaches are going to change anything? They all get paid decently, and fishing in Western Montana is excellent. 6 and 5 seems the best bet. That will keep people happy without Bobby actually making any coaching changes.

AND, I am not going to bad mouth the players. College football is the most coach dependent sport in the world. I look at who the Griz are bringing in and I'm personally stoked. But no changes will be made in the off season, these jobs are too cushy.

When the biggest thing impacting the season was the injury to the qb, which caused the loss of 2 big games, which caused the loss of a seed, which caused the Griz to have to go on the road sooner and to have to play the second best team, why would there be a need to make big coaching changes? I assume you don’t think a different caused Johnson not to get hit in the head and concussed after he had thrown a pass.

Coaching could have realized that a Griz qb hasn't been healthy all through a season for like 6 years straight and done a better job of finding or developing a back up. And, although I do think you know more about football than I do, I just don't think a healthy Johnson would've pushed this team past what they accomplished. I wish I shared your optimism, but I think the upcoming season will be more of the same.

5-6 or 6-5 is my best guess. I'll go optimistic and say 6-5

7-4 with a horrible home loss along the way. It's just a Bobby thing. The schedule keeps the Griz out of the playoffs this time.

The other thing to keep in mind here is we have a stupid division 2 game on our schedule that does not help us in anyway for playoffs it’s basically a non-counter. So we have to get to 8 wins just to meet the 7 division one “typical” threshold.

Which UM QB wasn't "healthy all through a season" in 2018? Sneed started every game and threw for at least 200 yards in all but one. Oh, and he was the leading UM rusher. Regarding backup, the only Griz QB to take a snap that year other than Sneed was Cam Humphrey. Was he an inadequate backup?

That cinches it. No more drinking during games for me. Cam Newton took snaps for Montana?

I wished to God Hauck would have let Humphrey take a few snaps in the Weber Game at the end of the 2019 season.

He threw and ran the wildcat.

S: Jackson
Do we know anything about this kid? Is there a link or video or other info? Do you expect him to start? If so, what makes you think that?

Ronald Jackson, former 3 star DB played for Akron. He entered transfer portal and tweeted out a commitment to the Griz. I am assuming he knows childs as I believe Akron is where childs left too.

Why is there no video? When will he be here?
I would be surprised to see a soph transfer in and start at that position. Any other position, might be different. But what the hell do I know, I thought the center was pointing pre-snap to order another round for the boys

7-4. Losses to Idaho, Davis, Sac, MSU.

And, this is probably the worst OOC schedule I've seen. Even FCS Stats was mocking it on Twitter.

Quick edit...it was not specifically a tweet, but a link to Craig Haley's "Never-too-early Top 10" article. Frankly, I'm shocked he included the Griz (#9), but he also has William and Mary at #4 so his credibility is shot nonetheless. Regardless, he wrote...Montana's non-challenging, er, non-conference schedule is not a misprint.

As of right now, this seems about right. Maybe with some consistency on offense, key-players healthy, and some momentum, we will get one or two wins in the Idaho, Davis, Sac or scat games. We have to win the seven games we should and get at least one win over the other tougher games. We drop one "should-win" game, we could be in trouble. Way to early to have any idea how we will actually look next year. I sure hope I'm wrong and we have eight, nine, or ten wins going into the cat scat game!

Go Griz!
