Thank you. Rouge you are right on. Rebounding is about effort and choosing to be an ass-kicker and not a victim of your height.
Mtgrizrule you are one of the best basketball poster on this board and you are right and "get it" about just about everything you say regarding hoops. I have probably called you out on some of your opinions about football on here but you know your stuff on bball (which im trying to stop being such a jackass) Keep It up.
I am passionate about basketball and football. Problem with football is, too damn many players to watch and too much field to see it all. Basketball is much easier to learn the nuances and strategies. Football, takes longer to get a feel of a team too, and almost impossible to get a feel from online. Basketball, even on a small screen watching a game, one can some of a feel. Speaking of feel, hate to see it, but those boys are missing some fire and passion early this season. Next game, I will be looking to see who is playing with tenacity, it had better start with Kareem. I know Jordan Gregory and Keron will be. For rebounding to improve we need every guy to have Gregory's attitude, passion, and desire. Then again, Gregory is my kind of player. Weisner, plays hard, but physically he just is not a true paint player. He is a true SF/3.
I know Hutchison and Martin work hard. Andy has a higher ceiling, still a little tentative. With that said, he is an afterthought on the court with fellow players. It is disappointing too. They need to get him the ball when he has position. He also can hit the 10 to 15 jump shot. He has a nice soft touch. Maybe he is too raw still to have earned that faith from the team. Hutchison, for as strong as he is, his rebounding numbers should be much better. The one post player the players do look for is Kemp. That is a good sign for the team. However, the perplexing part is, what is keeping him from the floor with more minutes? I honestly see a 10 point to 7 rebound per game talent there, at worse.
One way or the other, the team needs to commit to our post players and develop them. I know this is hard to do in basketball, but have seen it done on a few teams. Until one or 2 guys separate themselves in the post, situation substitute as often as possible. Martin defensively, his length always makes the defense better. I think with more minutes and know how he can help on the boards too. He needs minutes for confidence. Hutchison, is either good or bad so far this season.
If these guys do not develop inside, I see no reason why this team cannot go with more pressure defense and traps. Wayne has a lot of tough decisions to still make.
